We did some basic obedience and what a smart puppy he is. When we found out baby #3 was on way we knew that Hooch (being a puppy still with lots of puppy love to give) could use that extra nudge in his training and some reinforcing that we just weren’t able to give him ourselves. We decided to invest in Hooch some more and found Rick at Rising Starr K9. We met with Rick and His wonderful wife Joane and set up Hooch’s board and train. He gets to live in their home with their own dogs and gets training throughout the day everyday. He goes where they go and is not in a kennel all day with only one or two training sessions. He’s constantly loved on by both of them. Hooch has been missed the last month, but we could not honestly have chose a better program for him! We are excited to bring him home next week and continue the foundation work Rick and Joane have given us to succeed. We’ve done both one-on-one and group training with Rick and highly recommend him. His practical, effective strategies have made a difference in working with our adopted, somewhat reactive four-year-old dog. Two months ago, we adopted Lucy, a senior rescue dog from a shelter. We wanted an older dog as we are in our 80s. She was a good dog with some issues. I could hardly walk her as she was anxious and pulled me which ever way she wanted to go. Along with a sore shoulder, I had very little control.
