THE best. Before finding Alex & his team, I tried a puppy classes (five levels of them), researching and trying to diy, and a private trainer... nothing stuck. He was extremely reactive and when new humans approached him, he was a bite risk. For me, it was either accepted that he will never be a social dog or find someone out there that I trust will improve his quality of life (and mine!). I sent Sigmund to the 6week Board & Train, and it changed our lives. He has been home now for just over a week and we have been trying our best to continue his routine/training. The structure has already paid off! Today we brought him to a large community event that was loud & busy - he did so amazing, it was hard to believe it is the same dog I started with. I seriously cannot say enough great things about this team. They do miracle work, are genuine, personable, and trustworthy. If you love your pup and need help, trust me as someone who drove all the way from Wisconsin to bring him to this place, it is 100% worth it. As owners you take on a responsibility to give your pup the best quality of life and truly, this team helped me get to a place that I can start doing that with Sigmund. If you are looking for dog training look no further. Sigmund, a border collie recently completed the six week board and train. He came back a different dog. Prior to this training he struggled with reactivity, pulling during walks, and regulating his emotions. The techniques Alex used resulted in Sigmund's quality of life drastically improving. He is able to walk amongst crowds, maintain a calm demeanor, and still display his personality that we love in productive ways. The results are better than we could have ever expected. Alex also takes time to teach dog owners how to properly care for their dogs. Between video sessions, questions answered, and time spent training together before taking Sigmund home, I learned so much about Sigmund's needs. Now, a week later, we are seeing the results of Sigmund's training and recognizing the value this will add to not only our, but Sigmund's life over the next decade. Thank you so much!!!

It’s been about a month since we completed our training package with Alex, and we can’t say enough great things. Our dog Rogan struggled with separation anxiety, confidence, and self-regulation, and walks were stressful due to leash pulling and dog reactivity. We had worked with several other trainers before without much success, but Alex gave us the tools, structure, and techniques that finally helped us see real, lasting progress. Every day is still a school day as we continue practicing everything we learned, but the difference in Rogan has been incredible. He’s so much happier, more confident, and far more relaxed, and we feel much more equipped as owners too. We’re incredibly grateful for all of Alex’s help and support.

We’re forever grateful to Alex and the Riverview Bark team!! This has truly been life-changing for us and for our border collie, Nala. Before, Nala had a really hard time calming herself, and walks were honestly a nightmare. Her reactivity to everything outside made it pretty frustrating. But during the training and onboarding, Alex took the time to really understand Nala, her signs, her triggers, and built a personalized plan that helped her gain confidence, trust people, and actually enjoy being outside. He also made sure to guide us through everything and transition the training to us as her handlers… and honestly, we probably needed more training than Nala did 😅 We’ve learned that structure, discipline, and love are the keys to a happy, balanced dog 🫶🏻

My dog's reactivity made walks unbearable and he could not calm down from the reactive episodes he was having. Alex's initial assessment gave me confidence that this behavior was manageable. I like how he tried to understand who I was and the relationship I was trying to have with my rescue. After the 4 week training program (honestly shocked it wasn't a full 6 weeks) my dog's leash manners were unbelievable and his reactivity was down to a couple of huffs but no fixations. I was able to pick up the training momentum and keep the progress going. What was most important was Alex (and team) introduced us to training tools and their usage. I came out a better owner and my dog's quality of life tripled. He is the happiest boy and now makes friends with all the dogs he sees. Alex made me realize the barking wasn't aggression, it was excitement and the little guy didn't know how to handle all his feelings (relatable). I can't recommend bringing your dog here enough. Alex cares so much about the dogs he trains and cares about the relationship between dog and owner. I didn't feel like my dog was just a "product" being serviced and the shop has no walls so everything is out in the open (nothing to hide). Great addition to the community here in Jersey City.
