I need to find out if I can have my 2 older dogs (7yrs) trained to be service dogs, or do we need to have a puppy. My son is legally blind currently with a degenerative condition that can either make him completely blind or stabalize at some point.

Jeanna, We are glad to help you in any way we can. Older dogs can be trained for service work and are often easier to train due to their age, however, age is a double sided sword. They may be easier to train, but they also need to retire sooner. Training cost is the same but the length of time in service will be shortened.

Then someone recommended Robinson Dog Training, and I’m so glad they did. For the first time, I felt hope. It turns out Stitch may have had some bad experiences at the dog park…. Through their guidance, I realized Stitch isn’t aggressive—he’s actually a softie inside who just needed the right structure and support. Once we learned how to properly guide him and better understand his temperament, everything started to change. Stitch even began making new dog friends, something I never thought possible. We’ve made so much progress that we even brought a second dog home! I highly recommend Robinson Dog Training to anyone struggling.

Sage and Cinnamon, our cute American Standard poodle puppie sisters needed training after they grew into full size dogs. They are still very cute, but were jumping on guests, barking at any random sound, and dragging us down the sidewalk for walks. Louis helped us learn how to get these unwanted behaviors under control. We completed our 1st set of classes, and their behavior is night and day and both the dogs and us have a much better understanding of behavior expectations. Louis is a military Veteran with K9 units. But that does not mean he's a drill sergeant with your dogs. He is professional, courteous ,ontime, and flexible with scheduling. We are continuing with the Service Dog training module, and the Rattlesnake/poisonous reptile avoidance training. We highly recommend Robinson Dog training, and cannot thank Louis enough for helping us become better dog owners.
