Rochester NY Dogs

We have a rescue dog with some significant behavioral issues from prior abuse and neglect. After being turned away by the very rescue group we adopted her from, and a very negative consultation from one trainer, we found Michael which was a true blessing. Our dog Olive completed a board and train with Michael in his home. This has made such huge difference in the issues she was having. We now have a great foundation and the tools to build upon her success. We would 100% recommend his training services, and we plan on using his amazing new boarding services as well.

Our sweet adopted 4 year old Great Pyrenees mix is terrified of shiny floors and new spaces. She wouldn’t walk across our floors at home and relied on carpets and runners to get around. Bringing her to the vet, groomer, and even our friends and parents homes had her anxious and scared. We felt she wasn’t living her best life and that fear was crippling her in many circumstances. We tried everything we could to help her, but kept coming up short. We began reaching out to many different trainers and found Michael with Rochester NY Dogs. Their offer of in-home board and train seemed like it would help Mabel while offering her the comfort of being in a home. Mabel was there for three weeks, and they were able to coordinate with us for two of the weeks to be when we were going out of town. We met with Mabel and Michael the third week and got to experience all she had learned and work on continuing to help her ourselves. Mabel was never comfortable or able to walk upstairs in our home. She now confidently comes upstairs when she chooses to. She walks on the hardwoods, eats on them, and is able to relax on them as well. She’s able to walk into stores and new spaces without hesitation of fear. Mabel is the same loving goofy dog, but more self-assured, less anxious, and confident. Michael and Gavin cared for Mabel like one of their own dogs while she was with them. We are so happy we reached out to Rochester NY Dogs!

I highly recommend Rochester NY Dogs for all of your dog training needs! Charlotte is a Weimaraner / Pitt mix. She is the sweetest dog, but wasn’t always the best listener. We hired Mike from Rochester NY Dogs to train Charlotte as a service dog for our developmentally disabled daughter. Thanks to him our rambunctious, high energy pup now knows all of the basic commands & MUCH more! I honestly thought she couldn’t be trained (I’ve had many dogs over the years and was able to train all but her myself! She was a stubborn one!) He works miracles. We fondly call him the “dog whisperer” because it’s amazing how fast he can get difficult dogs to listen to his every command! Mike is also fantastic at connecting with neurodivergent kiddos - which makes the training sessions go so smoothly! If you’re looking for a trainer - look no further! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mike was very professional and attentive when it came to communicating. While on my week and a half vacation Mike sent photos and video of my 12 year old American Eskimo. He treated him as if he was one of his own. Milo has some health issues and Mike made me feel very comfortable knowing he was in good hands. When we picked up Milo I honestly don’t think Milo was to come home with us, that’s how much he loved Mike. Anytime I go away for a long period of time I will definitely make the 2 hour drive to have Mike watch my pup. Highly recommend!!!
