Rocky Mountain Dog Training

I recommend the Rocky Mountain Puppy Day School to every new dog parent! I was so excited to have a puppy but also completely overwhelmed. This program helped my little pup get started off right! I was concerned my toy dog would be fearful, yappy and have poor manners, and we only get a short time to form their habits. The team customized the program to my little dog and his needs. While I was at work, Laura and Val taught my Barney the basics and then some. They focused in on his barking and gradually introduced him to the other dogs safely and at his pace (the other dogs were 5x his size!). He gained confidence with different dogs/people/situations and learned manners in a positive environment. On top of all that, they also had to train me! I learned how to handle my smarty pants dog so that he responded correctly but still felt loved and happy. I felt supported even when I was struggling - Laura answered my many questions each week with patience and easy to implement tips. My puppy is already better behaved than half the dogs in the neighborhood. This program put my heart at ease and is worth every penny!

Julie and Val at Rocky Mountain are simply amazing. I've worked with a lot of trainers over the years training my five Goldens and Julie and Val are the best. They teach natural and realistic training progressions that are completely doable and naturally reinforce positive behaviors. They also teach contingencies when your dog just isn't getting something, which is a frustrating although completely natural thing. Most importantly, they teach you the skills to be consistent and patient with your dog. At the end of each class, you feel like you are equipped to handle your dog in the real world (and have insight into how to keep training them after the class). My dog and I have now completed two Rocky Mountain classes are are signing up for a third. I can't recommend them enough.
