Rocky Top K9 LLC

Our Siberian Husky, Maya, completed a one-week board and train program with Sandra at Rocky Top K9 LLC, and the results have far exceeded our expectations. We came into the program with some anxiety due to our past experiences—our previous dog was an escape artist and runner. Our main goal was for Maya to learn to stay close and reliably come when called. Not only did Sandra deliver on that, but she gave us so much more. Maya is incredibly well-behaved in public. We have taken her to Rock City at Lookout Mountain in Georgia, and stores that allow dogs, like Home Depot and Lowe's. We can also take her with us to restaurants with outdoor seating, put her in "place" on a chair next to us, and she calmly stays there while we enjoy our meal. It’s something we never thought possible in an energetic husky. Sandra also introduced Maya to some agility training during her stay, which Maya absolutely loved. We were so inspired that we built a few agility features at home to continue her training—and she has a blast with them! We couldn’t be happier with the results from the training. I rescued my girl, Ruby, in December 2018. Ruby had been adopted once and returned to the shelter before and I have no idea what her little life was like before she blessed my life. We got off to a pretty good start at home. House training was quick and basic "sit" and "down" commands came fairly easily to her. Ruby is a Lab/Pit mix and I mistakenly diagnosed as aggression what actually was resource guarding. With some pure stubbornness mixed in. I've had dogs constantly for over 30 years and have done pretty well with basic training on my own, but this whole resource guarding thing was new to me and I knew that I needed real help by someone who understood Miss Ruby. I am so thankful that I met Scottie Greene. His approach of training the trainer, as well as the dog, was exactly what Ruby and I both needed. I used to have to keep her on a 30 foot lead rope when we went outdoors at home, to give her room to have a little bit of freedom to play. Now, she gets to go outside and run full speed ahead with no lead and without the e-collar. She loves being able to run freely and I love seeing her happy. Ruby's last training class was at a restaurant with Scottie and his wife Karrie and 2 of my best friends. With the exception of our group and the waiter, I don't think that anyone else in the restaurant even knew that Ruby was under the table. I can now take Ruby anywhere with me and she behaves like a perfect dog. (I may be a bit biased, but I'm convinced that she IS a perfect dog!) Ruby is now 2 months out from her final training and she just keeps getting smarter and smarter. I do reinforcement trainings with her every day, all verbal and hand commands. Like any dog, she loves to "work" - to do something that she knows I want her to do and earn praise and hugs for it. I can't say enough good things about Scottie, Karrie, Sandra and Rocky Top K9! In Dec, 2021, I called Sandra at Rocky Top K9 for advice about the 10lb German shepherd mix that I added to my pack of small dogs. After following her great guidance, I decided to start Sam in puppy training a few weeks later. What I didn’t know at the time, is we would become a part of a RTK9’s pack too! I have first hand experience with their training - puppy, advanced, agility, scent work, and I have attended fun pack events too. I can take Sam anywhere without worrying about his behaviors around people or other dogs - even off leash at the beach! I’ve actually had people approach me in stores and comment on his great behavior. Over the past almost 4 years and 140 lbs, I have called on the RTK9 team for advice on behaviors, nutrition, training skills, games…they have always helped with compassion, kindness and advice that works!
