Rucker Dog Training

We have a Cane Corso that we got as our first dog. We started training with Scot in the beginner class when our dog was 4 months, she is now 9 months in his Advanced off Leash Course. Scott is very straightforward, which I very much appreciate; he lets you know information in a black and white manner. He has a way of training the OWNER which I realized through his training is 99% of dog training. He will answer your questions, no matter how silly you think they are, because like I said, he trains the OWNER. I’ve learned through his class that it’s me that needs to change in order to see change and progress with my dog. I absolutely recommend him to anyone that has a dog, puppy or new-to-them dog. Cannot say enough positive things about Scott and his team!

Rucker Dog Training is the best of the best! After adopting a rescue GSP, we decided we were going to do things right and own a trained dog! We have never regretted our decision and we still go to training weekly! That’s the beauty of it! You can go as long as you want! Derby is now a trained therapy dog and that was the best decision we’ve ever made! You will never regret having a trained dog by Scot!

We had great success with one dog years ago and I gave them a five star review, but as of the last 1-2 years the training quality and facilities have taken a severe down turn. The last time I took one of my dogs there for board and review he came back with a bleeding gash on his head that almost required stitches at the vet and took almost two months to fully heal. When I asked them what happened they somehow hadn't even noticed the actively bleeding injury that was front and center on his head, and had no answers for how it happened. This was my final straw and we switched trainers after that. The time before that they sent both my dogs and their bedding home covered in urine. The bed was literally dripping and soaked all the way through with urine, and had stains indicating the drying and resoiling of the bed. Please note both my dogs are house and crate trained so I believe they were not being allowed outside to potty. We let them potty before loading them into the car and both dogs peed for about 2-3 minutes straight... The time before that, they placed one of my dogs in a kennel with his collar and ID tags still on. He ended up getting his tags/collar stuck somewhere on the kennel and was thankfully able to snap the tag off his collar to free himself, but they had no idea until they came in the next morning and found the tags broken off in his kennel. Taking the collar/tags off a kenneled dog is basic knowledge I would expect a "professional" facility to have. It is a HUGE safety concern to leave them on for the exact reason that they have a tendency to get stuck on the kennel and can then strangle your dog to death. Again they helped me a lot with my first dog which allowed me to overlook and be patient about a lot of these things but the open wound they caused my dog was the final straw. I would not trust them with anyone's dog at this point.
