Ruff Rules

We worked with Sydney at Ruff Rules when we adopted my daughter’s puppy. We learned a lot from Sydney and the transition of a new puppy to a well behaved dog was challenging but so rewarding. We followed up at 6 months old with adult training and e-collar which gave us so much more confidence to handle off leash activities (ball throwing, jog, etc - bc we can trust in recall). My daughter even commented that after initial house breaking challenges she never thought we could have come this far. Sydney and Ruff stiles have been amazing. Freedom for our dog and confidence for us to handle new scenarios and have a well behaved dog that allows us all to have more fun.

I am so grateful to have found Ruff Rules-specifically our trainer, Jenna. I did a 2.5 week board and train for my two 9 month old puppies-an Old English Sheepdog and a Belgian Malinois. Prior to our training, my home was beyond unmanageable. I could not walk them on a leash or take them out anywhere. I could not even cook in my kitchen without them eating everything off the counter, and darting into cabinets, trashbins, and the dishwasher. It was even difficult having guests over, as they would bark and jump on anyone new. Fast forward a few weeks and we are thoroughly enjoying our home and our pups! They come with us to all practices and sporting events for our kids, they come running with us in the morning, they are able to stay in “place” while I am cooking dinner or when guests come over, and we are able to relax on our sofa in peace! In addition to being wonderful at training, Jenna was incredibly responsive from start to finish-and with any questions even after the training ended. She was at my home for 3+ hours at the end of training to make sure I completely understood how to implement everything on my own. I highly recommend to anyone, anywhere, with any dog!

I truly can’t express my gratitude enough to Keely and Ruff Rules. The entire nervous system of our household has changed for the better over the past month. And with 4 young kids, that means everything to us. When we rescued Levi at 8 weeks old…maybe younger (his mother was hit by a car when he was a few weeks old), we imagined taking him everywhere with our outdoorsy, nature-loving family. 2 years later, we were dealing with a highly anxious, reactive dog that couldn’t make it through a half mile walk without tearing our arms out of the sockets, barked incessantly at the backyard fence, grabbed food off the counters the second we’d look away, and jumped excitedly all over anyone who walked in the house. It was intense, man. And then we met Keely. And now I am literally typing this review while walking him on a slack leash, in a perfect heel for two miles. Our house is more peaceful. He can go everywhere with us now. Our kids get the fun, sweet dog of their dreams, our dog is happy, calm, and exploring the world with us…and we all believe in miracles more than ever before. Because in 3 weeks, Keeley taught all of us what we needed to be successful. And that is truly a priceless gift to our family. Thank you, Keely! You are gifted beyond words. And the next 12+ years with Levi are going to look much brighter than the first 2. 🙏
