Ruff Start Dog Training

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Amy! We have a sweet pit bull puppy but she needed a solid training foundation that we as her owners were not familiar with how to go about it as trying at home was not working. We wanted to nip her bad behaviors in the bud before she got older so after researching I landed on Ruff Start Dog Training. This was our first experience with a board and train so we went into it blind but after reaching out initially and talking with Amy and her coming to meet our puppy on a consultation, we were very impressed with her credentials and her eagerness to train not only Stella but us as her owners as well. The entire two weeks she was with Amy the communication was STELLAR. Amy sent multiple videos and messages every single day not only showing her amazing progress but explaining very well step by step what she was doing and why she was doing it so we understood what to do with her at home. Any questions I had were responded with professionalism and lots of information. Stella really took to her training and she amazed all of us at how well she learned commands, exceeded at crate training and potty training. Amy was with Stella every day all day constantly training and rewarding her for her learned good behaviors. We went back halfway thru and she coached us on doing everything she had taught her and we were amazed at how well she did. This was a very positive experience not only for our dog but for us as well! Amy is very invested in positive reward based training and she genuinely loves dogs and wants them to succeed. We are very happy with her board and train and recommend her highly!

She’s very knowledgeable, patient, and confident, and tailored the training to meet our dog’s specific needs. We saw real improvement in impulse control and reliability with basic obedience skills. Amy is great. Her knowledge is off the charts and is extremely patient. There have even been times where we have had one off questions with one of our pets and she was able to help us work through the concern and further helped us UNDERSTAND what our dog was trying to tell us. She’s compassionate with us and the dogs. You can genuinely tell that she loves all dogs and absolutely loves to help. We would highly recommend!
