Russell's K9 Academy

Imagine finding a great certified dog trainer and behavioral specialist who can not only help you with dog training but also provide ongoing guidance and support as you need it for any dog behavioral problems that may arise. That’s Russell K9 Academy and so much more! Our 4 year old, 85 lb. Doberman/Boxer mix, Lea, recently completed Russell K9 Academy’s Boot Camp and E-collar training, and we cannot thank Albert Russell enough for the wonderful care and training he provided Lea and us. My husband and I adopted Lea about a year and a half ago. She spent most of her life in a shelter. Mildly aggressive (defense guarding over the pack, as Albert advised) and quite the dominant gal. It was difficult to control her on walks. She would lunge at other dogs and/or people who came remotely close to us. She would get super stressed over the experience and take a long time to calm down. Then Albert came to our rescue. We first begin with a 3-hour in-home training visit. Al helped us understand her behavior and gave us tips on how to address it. We then continued Lea’s training with the 8-week boot camp and e-collar program. Each week we saw the wonderful progress she was making. Her transformation is amazing. We now go for walks without any issues. She’s calm and relaxed. No longer does she lunge at other dogs or people. No longer do we avoid places to take her. She goes everywhere with us now. It is so wonderful and rare to find a person who is as devoted to the wellbeing of dogs as Albert. We highly recommend Russell K9 Academy. We are forever grateful to Albert for helping our gal Lea emerge into the wonderful dog we thought she could always be and for giving us the tools that we needed to be better guardians for her. What an amazing experience is all I can say. My 7 month old German Shepard was super aggressive towards people and animals… we couldn’t socialize him because of this behavior. Couldn’t have people/family over etc. and he went after my neighbors dog ( no one injured thankfully) well with some humble pie eaten and in 10 minutes of His time, Albert was walking Shadow down the street passing bike cyclists with shadow obeying his every command. I never would hav imagined Shadow would have let him in our house let alone walk and sit with him. If we keep up our part and do shadow right he will be not feared by our neighbors any longer. I cannot recommend Russell’s K-9 service enough he was better then expected and knows his stuff. I am so pleased that we are going to continue classes with them to further train shadow on other things. Thank you Albert

We took my daughters pit Artemus to Albert from Russell k9 Academy. He is a 2 year old pup with a lot of energy and very strong I couldn’t control him. Due to his breed my daughter decided to train him as a service dog. He stayed in boot camp for 10 weeks. With visits from us weekly. It’s amazing to watch the progression. Artemus is a different dog he listens to commands now and is well behaved. Of course he’s a puppy so we have our moments when he try’s us but we can snap him out of it pretty quickly. Albert is amazing he has a true passion and love for training dogs and it shines through. We definitely recommend 👍

I have a lab/husky mix rescue that had obviously been abused and does not like men at all. When we hired Russell’s K-9 Academy I wasn’t really holding out much hope, we’ve had other trainers without a lot of success. Jack was/ is a hard case but Albert worked so hard and diligently with my dog, it’s so clear he loves what he does. Jack still has a long road to travel and his training will be on going, but for the first time in the 5 years I’ve had him, a man has been able to touch him, really pet him. You can’t begin to understand how incredible this is. Of course I can walk him off leash without fear now and he follows other commands and I’m grateful for all of that, but the thing I’m most grateful for is the possibility that my dog can be a dog without fear of humans. He can seek a level of confidence that a male hand isn’t going to bring pain and suffering. I’m a so thankful to Albert, I’m excited to see what the future holds for me and my dog. I would recommend this man 100 times over! Thank you for doing what you do! Thank you for caring enough to go way above and beyond for Jack!
