Sadie's Rules K9 Training

If I could give 10 stars, I would! It's hard to fully put into words how incredible and life-changing working with Sadie's Rules has been. We came to the team with some serious issues between our dogs. Last year, we adopted Scout, a street dog from Mexico, into our family, which caused problems with our other 2 (who are littermates). We were also dealing with reactivity, running away, basic obedience issues all combined with a unique tiny home living situation. We badly needed help! Jess came highly recommended and we knew after our initial call that this was the right fit for our family. Our little street dog spent 5 weeks with the team and our other two dogs (puggles) spent about a week. In addition to the work they do with the dogs, a huge part of the training is educating us humans how to properly lead our dogs and execute the new tools and skills. They go above and beyond to answer questions and make sure that you have the resources to succeed. My only regret is that I didn't put my other two dogs through her training much earlier in their lives! We no longer have to worry about Scout running away or being reactive towards the puggles. Walking all three is actually an enjoyable process now and Scout even has the skills and toolset to enjoy off leash freedom safely. We couldn't be happier and would highly recommend Sadie's Rules K9 Training. Thank you Jess & team!

I’m so happy my partner and I decided to take our pup Logan to Sadie’s. He was beginning to be aggressive, would bite everything in our apartment, would not listen to any commands, would take off as soon as the door would open and was just very hard to handle when we would go on walks. The list was much longer. Sadie’s training is worth every penny. When we went to see Logan and learn how to be with him I thought they switched my dog (they didn’t). It was incredible to see how much they accomplished in that time with him. I loved seeing his updates through social media but seeing it in person was unbelievable. He obeyed commands on and OFF LEASH! And had none of the negative traits he started with. I can’t thank them enough for the amazing work they did with him but also for genuinely caring for him and helping us during and after the process. I now tell all my friends about this training because it is so worth it!

It wasn't very fun to walk our dog Milton because he would bark and lunge at other dogs (and sometimes people). That was exhausting. After five weeks at Sadie's rules, he now walks like a champ in a dog show. :) All the written communication (website, handouts, email) was top-notch and VERY comprehensive. Also really appreciated the fast responses back. I loved loved loved seeing Milton on Instagram, which gave me piece of mind and also helped me get in the training mindset. I also really admire (and I'm sure I will be using) the lifetime support, which I think says a lot about the high quality of the training and the people who run it.

Our Shiba Inu, Sake, came home from training at Sadie's Rules just about 2 months ago. My husband and I were very hesitant to send Sake at first because we knew how much we'd miss him, and we were unsure if using an e-collar was something we felt comfortable with. Sake was a resource guarder (especially around food), a boy who worked and behaved for treats, a stubborn little guy who listened when he chose, and an excitable pup who jumped up for affection. Today, we are both extremely glad that we made the decision to have Sake train with Jess and her family, McKayla, and everyone who loved and worked with our boy! Right from the start, Nikki was quickly responsive through email and always so thorough in answering all of our questions. We were given clear directions about drop off and scheduling our go home sessions, and both Jess and McKayla were always on time and prepared for each meeting. It was obvious that they really took the time to get to know Sake. My husband and I appreciated the effort put into the go home guide and sessions to help us learn how to be the best leader for Sake and to have guidance from Jess and McKayla along the way. Sake has become such a joy to have around! We had always loved and adored our sweet boy of course, but we definitely felt stressed with some of his behaviors and in certain situations. Today, instead of begging for food by the table at mealtimes, Sake calmly rests (even falls asleep) in place whether it be on his cot, bed, or favorite chair. Instead of growling or getting in fighting matches with my parents dogs under the dinner table, Sake chews on a bone calmly across the room. Instead of giving up on a game of fetch because Sake won't drop the ball, we use the "out" command and have a blast playing together for long stretches. Instead of being the dog that we would never consider trusting off leash, Sake heels leash-free by our sides or runs freely in fields, creeks, parks, trails, etc. coming back when called. Sake still has his little personality, but has much more respect for his leaders. Thank you everyone at Sadie's Rules for giving us such a calmer, more enjoyable, and adventure-filled future with our best bud! It speaks great volumes when he excitedly hops out of the car for boarding and is welcomed back by all of you with open arms! We appreciate everything you've done for our family!

Our boy Rusty was almost a year old, riddled with anxiety, especially separation anxiety and ADHD it seemed. On a walk, every noise or leaf blowing by would send him lunging on the leash, his 55 lb weight tugging providing a less than enjoyable experience. He was becoming so anxious that we couldn't leave the house without him howling in the crate for hours (if we even dared to leave him home). He would scratch at the windows and broke the blinds when he wasn't crated. He didn't listen when playing off the leash, would eat anything in site, and was starting to guard his toys and bones. He is a cattle dog/Australian Shepherd mix so we realized that these herding and anxious behaviors are part of his makeup and important to address early in development. One day, he cleared the dog park after becoming too aggressive with another dog. I heard about Sadie's Rules from a travel nurse coworker. We heard so many things about Jess that we signed up Rusty within a few days for the 3-week board and train, though we live 3 hours away. Rusty has been home now for 2 months, and my husband and I haven't regretted our decision once. Rusty is now a fun-loving dog who loves to run off leash hiking with us, or playing with his dog friends. I feel that I can actually keep him safe now as he comes when he is called. He walks daily with my husband or I, off leash, in "heel" and doesn't lunge even for kids walking by or to chase a bunny (unless we release him). The best part is the option we have - even if we decide to let Rusty run free, we are confident we can always call him back to us. Jess taught Rusty the skill of being calm. He really enjoys the structure of having a "place" to lay down in and feel safe inside, without being distracted by anything around him. He is fun loving, so sweet, confident, and we can safely leave him at home now for extended hours with no problem. I also appreciated the pictures and videos from Instagram Sadie's Rules posted in real time so that we could feel like we followed along Rusty's journey. They were flexible- they considered our work schedules and the long drive when scheduling the take-home lesson. They were professional and we could at the take-home lesson that they treated Rusty as their own (he loved them!). The take-home lesson really enabled us to take Rusty home and continue with the structure and training he had received. Great experience, well worth the cost (priceless), and we will be boarding Rusty next week while we travel.
