Sadie's Rules K9 Training

Sending my puppy here for the 3 week board and train was probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I experience the benefits and pleasure of having a well trained dog every day! Opal wasn’t necessarily a “bad” dog before I sent her for training, I just did not have the patience to teach her things myself. After coming back from spending time with Jess and her family, Opal knows a variety of commands and her manners are outstanding. I love being able to take her out in public places and let her be off leash without worrying if she’ll come back to me (she will). The “place“ command is my absolute favorite and we use it daily. If you’re up in the air about doing a board and train, you won’t regret it. You get daily updates via Instagram stories or Facebook, so you know what your dog is learning. I will never be able to have another dog unless they go to Sadie’s Rules for training.

Before Sadie's rules, I couldn't walk my Saint Bernard Bear down the street by myself due to his anxiety and severe reactivity to other dogs - and half the time, we couldn't get him more than a half a block from our house before he would pancake on the ground and refuse to move. Everything terrified him. Bear is now enjoying daily structured walks along the river and in the city, and trips to our local parks. He has so much more confidence, walks past other dogs without issue, and even walks politely in heel with our 10 year old neighbor. He has also learned to be calm in place in the house. We are so grateful to have found Sadie's Rules - Jess's 5 week board and train program gave us the tools to really change the status quo and I just wish we had enrolled Bear sooner!

For the past 5-ish years my dog, Brees, has dealt with extreme anxiety. We tried many things from training classes, ignoring the behavior, medications, secluding her, exercising her until she was too tired to walk, etc. However none of these methods work & her behavior and anxiety worsened despite our best efforts. I researched different methods of dealing with a dog with this type of anxiety, but continually came up short with an answer. This past fall we adopted another dog and Brees seemed to get even worse. I was at my end & I didn’t know where to turn. That’s when I discovered @sadiesrulesk9training. I watched her different training videos & read all of the different testimonials from other families/dogs she has helped. I was sold and signed Brees up to attend her 5 week behavior modification & obedience training. At the end of February I took Brees and dropped her off so she could begin her training. Throughout the next 5 weeks Brees re-learned basic obedience skills the right way & began working through her different issues. Jess worked with Brees on learning how to be calm despite distractions & things that may scare her. She taught her discipline which she wasn’t getting enough of from me which was causing her to be even more anxious. Jess taught her all of those things and countless more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ After we picked Brees up and brought her home there was a noticeable difference in her behavior. She was able to calm herself and rest quietly in the car (which before was a literal battle.) She now lays calmly in “place” instead of pacing the house and trying to climb behind furniture or onto us. She now walks in heel and doesn’t growl or bark at other dogs/people who walk by. I really could go on and on by how different she is, but I won’t bore y’all. The point of all of this is that there is hope for each and every dog that may have “issues.” With the right tools even the most anxious dog can become balanced and calm. The best decision I ever made as a dog owner was sending my puppy, Wrigley, to Sadie’s Rules K9 Training. Wrigley was only a little over 5 months old when he went through the 3 week board and train, and everyone thought I was crazy and they would say “he’s a puppy, he’s supposed to act like that” or “he will grow out of it”. The work Jess does with these dogs is phenomenal and it changed my relationship with Wrigley. I was constantly on him about not getting into things, jumping up on people, and dreaded taking him on walks. Now, I have a pup that listens, I love to take on walks and go running with, can be off leash and will come when I call for him, will stay in place even when I’m not in the room and I get to truly enjoy my relationship with Wrigley. Even though he’s just a puppy, this training helps prevent him from forming bad behaviors in the future. It’s a lot of work and you have to stick with it, but it is all worth it! I will take all future dogs to Sadie’s Rules K9 Training. Thank you again Jess!

Jess (owner of Sadie’s K9 training) is an amazing dog trainer. I went to three other trainers in the area before finding her. She listened to my concerns and wants then catered a specific program to my dog. She gave me and my dog the tools to move past my dog’s reactivity and confidence issues. Now we can walk around with no issues and my dog can even be off leash with great recall. The other awesome thing about Jess’s training is the fact that she daily (or more) posts updates about your dog (they take great pics and videos). Your dog basically gets trained and incorporated into Jess’s family and pack. Additionally, she can do boarding (after she has trained your dog).
