San Diego Dog Training

I honestly couldn’t be happier with San Diego Dog Training. I brought them my 1-year-old dachshund, and the difference from when I dropped him off to when I got him back is crazy. I joke that I dropped off my stubborn little puppy and got back a show dog 😂 My biggest struggle with him was potty training. He didn’t understand that he was supposed to go outside, so I was constantly dealing with him going potty in the house. I tried working with him on it myself and just couldn’t get it to click. Since coming back from training, he actually understands that he needs to go outside, which has made a huge difference at home. Walking him is completely different now too. He used to pull on the leash and get way too excited whenever we passed another dog. Now he walks right with me and can pass other dogs without trying to jump or pull toward them. I can actually take him on a walk and enjoy it instead of constantly trying to control him. He also listens to me way better than he ever did before. I can give him a command and he actually pays attention and does what I’m asking. He looks to me for direction now instead of just doing whatever he feels like doing, which, if you own a dachshund, you know is a pretty big accomplishment lol. What really impressed me was that they taught him things I never even asked for. He came home knowing extra commands and some pretty advanced tricks that I had no idea they were working on with him. Seeing him do all of that for the first time was probably my favorite part. He’s still the same goofy, stubborn little dachshund personality-wise, but his behavior is completely different. He goes potty outside, walks properly on a leash, behaves around other dogs, listens to me, follows commands, and knows tricks I never thought he would be able to do. I’m genuinely impressed with how much they were able to teach him. I went into it hoping they could help with a few behavior problems, and they ended up doing way more than I expected. I really do feel like I got a little show dog back. 😂 Definitely worth it, and I would 100% recommend San Diego Dog Training to anyone struggling with their dog’s behavior or training.

San Diego Dog Training went above and beyond helping my high energy pup. I can't say enough positive things about our experience. The training was custom tailored to my pup and my families needs, older family member watching pup during the day. Extra time was put in to ensure all needs were met and then some. 10/10 would recommend for anyone in the San Diego area who needs dog training. From one veteran to another, thank you San Diego Dog Training!

I would recommend dog training here to anyone and everyone. My little boy Gryphon (not so little, 7 y/o and 67 lbs) had a lot of trauma and was scared of dogs. This resulted into fear and anxiety and subsequently dog reactivity/aggression. BUT, during his time here at San Diego Dog Training, Gryphon not only got intensive, focused, and caring training, he also was provided great care period and treated like family. I received updates and photos throughout the training and progress reports. When I picked up gryphon, I was shown what he had learned (no reactivity to dogs while on a walk, more behaved while on a walk, new commands learned, more confidence, etc.). Even when I got home, I was provided 1:1 support over the phone and offered additional services for dog walking if I needed it! That just shows how above and beyond they go here. I think everyone would benefit from bringing their dog here for training.

Samson, our 9 month old pitbull/husky rescue, came from a difficult situation and had a lot of anxiety and reactivity from day 1. Unfortunately it kept getting worse so I knew we needed some help. After researching our options, we decided to send Samson for a two week board and train with SDDT and are very happy with that decision. Danny was awesome from the first phone call. He had great energy and made me feel comfortable and optimistic about trusting him to help Samson. After the two weeks when I picked Samson up the change was immediately obvious. He is more confident, less reactive, knows a bunch of new commands, and is so much better on the leash. At pick up Danny showed me all his new skills and it was seriously impressive. Since pickup, Danny has promptly and thoroughly addressed all the questions I've had transitioning Samson back into our house and making sure the training sticks. He really does go above and beyond and it's obvious how much he cares. We highly recommend Danny and SDDT!
