K9 Kayla; the local dog whisperer. We worked with Kayla with our 2 y/o rescue, that is highly reactive. Having had our last dog for 11 years, we felt we were equipped to be a good family for him. Podcasts, books, trial & error after error, we needed professional help. We called Kayla & she got to work quickly. She observed him, picked up on subtle cues we had been missing, clearly explaining to us what he was communicating and, most importantly, what it means. Kayla doesn’t just train dogs. She teaches the owners how to better understand and communicate with their dog. She emphasizes the importance of structure, consistency, boundaries, and confident leadership, and she explains why these things are so essential to building a balanced, trusting relationship. Her approach is both effective and empowering. You leave each session not only seeing your dog differently, but also understanding how your own actions, energy, and communication influence your dog. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely understands dogs and can teach you to understand them too, I highly recommend her. She is exceptional at what she does! We also boarded several times with her, and he always came home happier❤

We brought our 4½-month-old Golden Retriever to Sapphire Canine for boarding and training and couldn’t be happier with the results! Kayla and her team made amazing progress with Kota in just one week. She even taught her how to do a bunch of fun tricks. You can truly see the love and care they give every dog. Kayla also took the time to walk us through how to continue the training at home, which made a huge difference. Kayla is great and super knowledgeable. I’ve been doing weekly training with her for the past couple of months and she not only has taught my dog many new skills, she has taught me many things as well. Kayla is very passionate about her job and it shows, The dogs there are all very well taken care of. I trust her with my dogs 100% and will continue to work with her in the future. I highly recommend her to anybody looking for training or boarding.
