I'm vice-president of a non-profit adoption group in Dallas - so when an urgent rescue need unfolded in Houston, we had to find local veterinary support to help our organization take in seven young greyhound mixes. The team at Sea Dog Animal Training (SDAT) was recommended - Dr. Grace Brannon and the team immediately swung into high gear. In late 2024, we learned of a litter of seven 10-month-old greyhound puppies listed on Craigslist. While many rescue groups expressed deep concern, none had the capacity to take them. Our organization jumped into action, secured emergency foster homes, and took in the entire litter. Here is how SDAT became our Houston heroes: Complete Intake Care: The team provided boarding, vital initial exams, and first-round vaccinations for all the puppies. Surgical Coordination: They seamlessly partnered with another local veterinarian to manage and coordinate all the necessary spay and neuter procedures. Follow-up: Once the pups were placed in foster homes, the team at SDAT checked in to see if anything was needed. If you’re looking for a trainer, I can’t say enough good things about Heather at Sea Dog! She’s done incredible work with Valor, a dog we rescued from a fighting ring. The work she has poured into him has literally brought me to tears, because he’s come so far since he came through her doors. Heather doesn’t just train dogs, she changes lives.
