SF Puppy Prep

I’m not exaggerating when I say this is one of the most important businesses in the city. They’re ability to teach young pups - and their humans - how to exist safely and happily in this particular urban environment is a true service to every citizen. Mac, Erin and their team were spectacular when we first got our pup. He ended up getting quite sick before we were able to begin working with puppy prep and Erin was an incredible resource and support for us - she hadn’t even met our dog yet! She checked in every few days until he recovered, and was incredibly flexible in helping us adjust his start time and not miss critical socialization windows while he was tiny. We later continued with Outdoor Education - their “graduate program” - and it was incredible to learn from Ellie and Erin’s intuition. They understand dogs so well! He was very sad when it was finally time to move on - he loves them so so much (very much more than us…) Truly, our life with our dog would be dramatically different if it weren’t for puppy prep. We’re lucky they exist. There are no thanks sufficient enough.

They say raising a puppy takes a village, and SF Puppy Prep was my village! I'm so grateful to them for taking my shy and sensitive pup and helping her become confident, well-behaved and well-socialized. She was so excited to go to school (I did the day school) and came home tired and happy. The trainers are all top notch and very helpful in answering all of my questions about at-home training (their packages include 1:1 time with the trainers via parent teacher conferences). You can tell they really care about each puppy and their individual needs. Thank you for setting us up for success, SF Puppy Prep! Poppy and I miss you all already.

The trainers here are top notch. Their day school program took my German Shepherd from a frightened, undersocialized, easily overwhelmed puppy, to a curious and inquisitive young dog who is blossoming more and more each day. They provided her with the opportunities to build her confidence with other dogs and people. The quality of life she can now enjoy - going to dog parks, pet stores, cuddling with vet techs for comfort during examinations, warming up to houseguests in a matter of hours rather than days or never - is all built on the foundation laid here. I'm incredibly proud of her and so grateful to SF Puppy Prep for teaching her she could be brave.
