Singleton's Animal Connection

My daughter's small 5-7 pound dog was taken to Karen's home in Crestline (the mountains) to be "trained" to keep from having anxiety and allegedly biting. She (the dog) arrived at the home in Crestline on Wednesday, June 21st, 2017 and by Friday, June 23, 2017, my daughter's dog was gone. Sadly, my daughter wasn't getting much response in the way of text responses from Karen, and wasn't notified that her dog had escaped through a small space until hours after it happened. Finally, on Sunday afternoon, Karen answered my call and told me how awful she felt - and she only let her off the leash for a moment to potty, but the next day, her story was different - she let her off the leash, and wasn't even outside when the dog ran. I am beyond disappointed that someone can charge hundreds, and hundreds of dollars to "train" a pet and doesn't have the common sense to not let such a small dog outdoors alone - in a wild life community. A true professional would have known better. Every shelter site, and web site about the mountain areas, says DO NOT LEAVE YOUR SMALL PET OUTDOORS AT ALL... ESPECIALLY UNLEASHED OR UN-ATTENDED. We do not live in the Crestline area, but have made the drive up there every day since Saturday (June 24th) and rarely even see Karen's vehicle, or any other vehicle, at her home - where the "training" is supposedly taking place. I am so disappointed. She has caused my daughter's heart to break in a way that was surely preventable. After reading the reviews on this woman, and all of the many "business" changes she has made - sounds to me like she escaped to Crestline. I am curious if she is even licensed, or has kennel zoning or any other necessary regulatory items. If you value your pet - find someone else to teach them how to be "nice." There are many locals that have had awful experiences with this woman, as well. If I were this small dog, I would have ran away myself...

I took my dog Bailey to Bass Pro Shop and had the Rattlesnake training complete. My dog passed and it was a positive experience with this company. They called me about dog obedience. I did the evaluation and enrolled bailey in the 6-8 weeks dog training. I asked what it entails, and Karen Singleton stated " play (letting out) 2x a day- am and pm, and 3x a day training, plus feeding am and pm. I was given access to the cameras to watch during play time. I noticed instantly that no one was letting the dogs out and no one was there. Someone only showed up once a day around 1030ish and the dogs were not let out. I called on Sunday and sent a text message. I got a hold of Karen and told her no one was there and who was feeding my dog and that my dog needs play time. She is high energy. She stated " I should of never answered the phone, I am going over there I will be there in 45 min". I was astonished on how poor her communication, professionalism, and the lack of care for these animals. So Bailey was there four days and let out only 1 x on 2 days and was never trained. My husband went over there and took her from them. When he got her she was sleeping on concrete (no bedding that we provided, no food, and no water). The trainer said she never trained Bailey at all. Karen called on the 4th of July to let me know that she was there and that Bailey was ok with the fireworks. That was a lie, the residence there told us that someone only came once , which is what I saw on camera and that nobody was there for the eve of the fourth. All you people who gave her good reviews, did you even watch to see what was going on? All your dogs are just being kenneled with limited interaction. This is animal cruelty. This women should be ashamed.

Singleton’s Animal Connection, Inc (aka Singleton’s Pet Obey/Singleton’s Rattlesnake Avoidance) is a terrible company. Karen Singleton is a rude woman who has no patience and does not like people who have an opinion. I worked for her less than 2 months and on multiple occasions my paycheck was late and she yelled at me because I did something that she didn’t like or it was something different and new. When she let me go, she withheld my last week’s paycheck from me and didn’t give me my money that she owed me. Her methods are a waste of your time and money because exactly what she does at her kennel has to be duplicated at the owner’s home. So you are doing double the work. She doesn’t return phone calls in a timely manner, she blames me for things she forgets or does not response to questions and makes you look like the bad guy. Ex. An owner left their 2 dogs with the boarding facility and when the dogs’ medications were returned to the owner at pick up, they were soaked and unusable from the rain over the weekend. The owner came to me and I explained Karen works over the weekends and must have forgot to take the bag out of the rain. They messaged Karen and she forwarded the message to me as if it was my problem. Another incident was when a boxer was showing signs that it was sick and I brought it to Karen’s attention, she said that he was fine and to just put peroxide on his wounds. I later found out from the owner when he finally was taken to the vet, that the dog has a serious fungal infection and ear mites. Karen lacks the concern and care for the dogs. All she’s worried about is making her money. She just wants to put, pretty much, every dog on “Doggy Prozac” because she can’t tolerate the aggression, anxiety or excessive barking of the dogs. I am a previous employee of the company and I URGE you not to use her services! Save yourself the headache, time, money and stress that will come with using her!

We adopted a dog from a shelter and found that the dog was a bit of a handful. We were referred to Singleton's Pet Obey by a friend and found that the services provided were above and beyond. We did a 14 week boot camp with our dog and we were allowed to visit once a week. When our dog cam home she was trained and we did not have to worry about trusting the dog in our home. We also have a cat and the owner of Singleton's Pet Obey did an amazing job training our dog not to attack the cat! We would highly recommend Singleton's Pet Obey to anyone who has training issues. The owner is extremely knowledgable and helpful.
