I am told this place trains with shock collar on all its dogs, even before the dog learns commands. Is this true?

Call it what you like but the modern tech and modern, attention-based approach is very different than a past mindset of “shock collar” or training. More trainers and people are exploring and using collars now than ever because of the advancement and evolution. They don't call it a shock collar since they use it for "positive reinforcement", but yes. It's definitely a shock collar. They will also recommend your dog to wear it at all times.

What types of dogs do you train and when?
We train any dog, any age, any problem! We'll start puppies as early as 8-10 weeks and grow them for life; we've had 12 year old dogs come for training too! And we purposely located outside of Denver so we don't have breed restrictions.

What is the cost of the services?
It depends on the dog and specific needs! They will give you a free consultation where they meet you and the dog! My dog did one week boarding. Total was $1850.

How can I get a replacement controller?
Laura, I'm presuming you have our Sit Means Sit collar which also has a lifetime warranty! So, if the controller is not functioning, the manufacturer will repair or replace. If you've lost it call our office and we can coordinate getting you a new one. Numbers are listed in Google profile. Anthony

Absolutely would recommend Nicole to train your dog. She trained our year old puppy and she Is such a good well behaved girl now. Maple (our dog) was obsessed with the tennis ball, now she can have tennis balls thrown around her and doesnt even react until we give her permission. I would 10000% recommend.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Sit Means Sit Denver! Our one-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog, Gannicus, is full of love, energy, and a lot of enthusiasm—especially when he sees other dogs. Walks used to be a challenge, with constant pulling and his overwhelming excitement to greet every dog we passed. After trying another training program that didn’t quite meet our needs, we knew we needed additional help. At first, I was hesitant about using an e-collar. But after extensive research, talking with trusted friends who use it, and even trying it myself, we decided to give it a shot. From the very first day of the day-drop-off program, we saw noticeable improvement! The care and kindness the team showed, not just to Gannicus but to us as well, blew us away. I’ll admit, I cried that first morning dropping him off—it was the first time he’d ever been left with anyone outside of close friends and family. But seeing how happy he was and knowing he was in such great hands put my heart at ease. The team at Sit Means Sit Denver has been everything we could have hoped for and more. They understood we weren’t aiming to turn Gannicus into a perfectly regimented working dog. We simply wanted a lovable, well-behaved pet who we could walk without stress, open doors without him bolting, and welcome guests without him barreling toward them at full speed. The group classes have been a game-changer for us. Gannicus is great at home or in our backyard, but out in the front yard or around other dogs, it used to feel like all his training went out the window. The group classes give us the chance to practice around distractions in a controlled environment, which has been such a confidence booster—not just for Gannicus, but for us as his parents. Nicole, in particular, has been incredible. Her kindness, patience, and depth of knowledge have made this entire process so much easier. No matter how many questions we’ve had (and there have been a lot!), she’s always taken the time to answer them thoughtfully and thoroughly. Thanks to Sit Means Sit Denver, Gannicus has made amazing progress. For the first time, I’ve been able to walk him at a heel without worrying about his reaction to other dogs. It’s been life-changing. We can’t wait to see how much further we’ll go in the next six months, but we’re already beyond grateful for everything they’ve done for us and our big ball of fluff. All the trainers are absolutely incredible! Our dog now loves to “go to school” to see his friends (especially Devyn)! He is a new dog!
