Sit Means Sit Dog Training Colorado Springs

We’re the second owners of our dog, Moose, and even though he had some training before, we knew we needed help to set him (and us) up for success. We did a board and train and private lessons with Loren, and the experience was great! Loren is super knowledgeable, patient, and really took the time to teach us how to support Moose in everyday life. You can tell he genuinely cares about the dogs and their people. Moose has made amazing progress, and we all feel so much more confident now. We can’t recommend Loren enough!

We had a great experience with Loren at Sit Means Sit! He helped our dog learn e-collar training, and the improvement in recall has been huge. Loren was patient, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about helping both dogs and owners succeed. Highly recommend Loren if you’re looking for a trainer who truly understands canine behavior, communication, and has a great deal of experience with pups of their own!! Loren also sent many cute photos throughout the stay!

Julia was exceptional with the training and guidance she shared with us and our pup! She quickly understood our pups needs and what training needed to be worked on and improved. Julia worked so well in guiding our pup during the single session and she clearly explained to us what our goals should be to better improve his training and impact his continued growth. I felt extremely comfortable working with Julia as it was clear how professional and knowledgeable she is.

We did a Board and Train with our dog who struggles with reactivity a lot especially when on leash. The program used at Sit Means Sit encompassed obedience in a general sense but they can tailor it to specific needs too. During the Board and Train we got consistent updates from our trainer and our dog was doing really well at the facility. He was walking on leash and sitting down right near other dogs and doing great. When we got back and picked him up he was doing a lot better with his leash walking. We felt like we had a plan. The biggest challenge is getting the behavior learned at the facility to translate fully to other settings. The owners need to keep putting in the work with training at home and on walks. While our dog has been much better at home and on walks, he doesn’t behave as well as he does at the facility. They will give your dog a good foundation of obedience and training, but especially for dogs with behavioral issues like reactivity or aggression, the owners need to continue to build on that work done at the facility during the board and train. This is why the follow up to the board and train is important. They continued to do home lessons with us to work on his leash walking and you can go to group lessons at the facility as often as you like. This has been great and is helping us continue to improve his behavior. They definitely don’t leave you out to dry after the boarding, but it is on you to keep up with regular training at home to really solidify the good behaviors. We interacted with many trainers who were all great. Loren has been our primary trainer and is wonderful. He works with us and our dog really well. He is patient, and he really likes and cares about our dog in a genuine way. We are so thankful for him. So overall, it is not a quick and easy fix for all your dog’s behavior issues (I don’t think this exists). But it is a great place with training that is effective and great people that care about you and your dog and will continue to work with you in follow up as much as needed after they complete the board and train program.

Our dog Buster was constantly barking, fence fighting, and made walks miserable. We didn’t know what to do. He wasn’t happy and we weren’t happy. After completing the 10-day Board and Train, Buster is a completely different dog! We can go on walks, he’s doing great with commands and stopped fence fighting with our neighbor’s dog. He will continue with group classes to improve his skills and teach us how to work with him. We weren’t sure if training would help, but I am telling you it worked! Thank you Sit Means Sit!
