Sit Means Sit Dog Training Frisco

We’ve never put our dogs through any type of training before. This experience has exceeded our expectations. Sit means sit is the real deal and Mike is an amazing trainer. We have a hard-headed beagle puppy and, through gentle and consistent training, has come out the other side a much more well behaved and compliant pup. Through continued reinforcement of the training Mike provided, we’re looking forward to enjoying our new dog for years to come.

I'm going to get right down to it here. This place uses electric collars. I was against that with my dog at first. I read several training books. Tried a few different other professional trainers. Nothing worked. My dog still had a terrible aggression and anxiety to other dogs. And then one walk, an unleashed dog ran up, and I reached down to scoop up my dog, and he bit me, hard. I could tell he didn't know what he'd done. It was purely instinctual, and it was now between trying this place or attempting to rehome my dog, likely sentencing his life to end. My dog is still here. This place works. Here's the key: if your dog objects, you stop after the distraction is gone and turn the intensity down. It's meant to get his attention, not hurt him. Mike knows what he's doing and teaches you how to use the collar properly. He even has group lessons where dogs like mine can learn that other dogs aren't threats. My dog is still anxious, but it's not nearly as bad as it used to be. I don't have to worry about him biting anyone anymore. He's alive, well, more confident, and happier.

Mike has been a God-send (literally, I met him at church after praying for a solution to our pup!!) We adopted a very sweet dog who was having a lot of trouble with discipline, specifically on walks. We’d tried everything, including spending lots of money on private lessons. Nothing was working & we were exhausted by the lack of progress. We made the decision to work with Mike after an initial evaluation. It only took one lesson to see the difference with our dog; he’s a completely different pup. He’s obedient and crushing it at our training. Not only are we thrilled in the difference, he is a happier pup too; the training cracked the code needed to help him understand our expectations too. We highly recommend Mike & his training, he won’t disappoint!

My experience with sit means sit was really needed and in the season of life meant so much to me and my husband. My dog Bailey was born deaf. She wasn’t socialized too much when I adopted her from another family member. She’s aggressive with other dogs and wasn’t good on a leash. Unfortunately my father fell ill with cancer and had to move in with us and Bailey became very protective of my Dad and territorial of our house. I was working around the clock and had other family members in and out and things got dangerous she wouldn’t let anyone near my dad. I called Shantele and she was quick to respond and organize a plan of action. They came to my home assessed Baileys needs and told me not all was lost. I love my dog more than anything and didn’t want to see her or anyone get hurt. We chose to do the in home private lessons and it been a game changer. They gave me to tools to continue her training. Even after completing training I’m able to call and ask questions they are so willing to help. They have great recommendations for anything dog related in the community. Having an aggressive dog can be not only a liability but a huge burden on a family. Bailey now walks on a leash without pulling she passes other dogs and doesn’t show aggression and she listens when we have visitors in the home. I’m here to tell don’t hesitate to use Sit means sit they offer more than just dog training and are really good humans that care about our fur babies. I’m grateful I used them. I just finished my training sessions with Mike. He was fair and honest with me at my evaluation with what to expect with the training he provided. With his guidance I was able to level up my confidence with the tools and he also helped me understand my dog better. He was always available if I had questions and did a great job setting both me and my dog up for success each training session. I'm excited for the next chapter in life with my dog, and it's going to be better then expected because of Mike's help.
