We brought in two dogs with very different needs— one a young puppy and the other an 2 year old dog who struggled with significant anxiety around people and in public settings. The transformation has been incredible. The trainers are thoughtful, patient, and genuinely invested in your success. Alyssa listens carefully, meets you where you are, and never makes you feel judged or inadequate. We learned quickly that they don’t just train your dog, they teach you how to communicate and build confidence together. What we appreciated most is that they don’t just train your dog in a controlled, unrealistic environment. They teach both you and your dog how to work together in real-life situations, giving you the confidence and skills to navigate everyday life together. Recently, we spent an entire day out with both dogs, including a restaurant and Lowe’s. They encountered reactive dogs, crowds of people, and plenty of distractions, yet they remained calm, confident, and well-mannered. For the first time, we were able to enjoy being out in public without worrying about fear, anxiety, or overexcitement. That same evening, we hosted a group of friends at our home, and the progress was even more evident. Our previously anxious dog settled in quickly, eventually relaxing under a friend’s chair and even seeking affection. Our other dog greeted everyone politely without jumping. We even had a baby at the house, and both dogs were calm, gentle, and respectful. Friends who had known our dogs before training couldn’t believe the difference and commented all night about how well-behaved both dogs had become. Throughout the entire weekend, we kept talking about how grateful we were for everything Sit Means Sit has done for our family. The results have exceeded our expectations, and we are able to accomplish things we never thought possible, such as let them off-leash in our yard or encounter crowds of people without worry. We’re excited to continue building on everything we’ve learned, and we’re so thankful for the dedication, encouragement, and expertise of the entire team. We were struggling getting our dog Marshall (now just over 1 year old) Golden Retriever to focus on learning commands. We first noticed Sit Means Sit Greensboro when he was between 5-6 months old while he went to doggy daycare at All American Pet Resorts Greensboro and we reached out. Alyssa immediately got in touch and we had our consultation where she got to meet Marshall and us. I truly cannot express how remarkable my experience with Alyssa has been. From the very beginning, her passion for what she does was unmistakable. It showed not only in her knowledge, but in the genuine care and respect she has for both dogs and their people. Although I ultimately did not move forward with training through her, my experience with Alyssa was still incredibly positive and meaningful. I was initially unsure about using a shock collar, and she handled that concern with honesty, patience, and compassion. She took the time to explain the process thoroughly, allowed me to feel the collar myself, and made sure I fully understood what that type of training involved without any pressure or judgment. What stood out most was her integrity. When I expressed interest in pursuing training without a shock collar, Alyssa was open and thoughtful about exploring alternatives. She was also transparent about her area of specialization and made sure I was guided toward the best possible option for my dog, even if that meant referring me elsewhere.
