Sit Means Sit Dog Training - NorCal

I’m the kind of person who likes to do things myself, but I have to admit—what Sit Means Sit in Modesto accomplished with my dog, Charlie, in just two weeks would have taken me a year. The level of expertise they bring from working with thousands of dogs is something you just can’t replicate on your own. We were referred by a friend who has an incredibly well-trained dog, and now that Charlie is back home, he’s doing amazingly well. If you want the freedom and peace of mind that comes with having a well-trained, off-leash dog, I highly recommend Sit Means Sit. Worth every penny! PS And if you go, ask for Dave—he’s the guy to request!

Awesome experience, I searched for a long time trying to find the right spot to send my dog for some obedience training. I came across Sit means sit and saw really good reviews so I decided to give it a shot. I was introduced to Dave and he was incredible. Took such great care of my dog and always made sure to update me daily and send me weekly videos. I picked up my dog this week from a 3 week board and train. In just those 3 weeks my dog is transforming into a completely different dog!! Couldn’t recommend Dave and sit means sit enough!! Thank you Dave!

We did the two week board and train with our 6 month old Australian Shepherd Chloe. Her biggest problems were with dog reactivity (barking/pulling on leash). From the first phone call, Nancy made the whole process easy and reassured us that our issues with Chloe could be resolved through the training. Dave was our assigned trainer and he was amazing to work with. He was extremely knowledgable, kind, personable, and with his years of experience put our minds at ease. Chloe seemed to like him from the first meeting. Dave would send us daily text messages summarizing what they worked on in their session and how she did. We also received a video update once a week which showed them training on that day. When we picked her up, Dave had an hour long training session with us to show everything that was worked on during the two weeks which included the commands come, heel, place, sit, and off. Then he had us go through all the commands for ourselves with his supervision and guided us the entire time. The results were like night and day. Our meeting lined up perfectly with school ending so there were hundreds of kids outside and even some dogs being walked. Chloe was able to focus on us the whole time and listened to the commands given perfectly. She was even able to walk past and around a dog being walked and showed no reactivity. Since getting her back home she has been doing great with her commands. Overall, this was a great experience and gave us a great foundation to work off of. I highly recommend Dave!
