Sit Means Sit Dog Training North Idaho

Blake and Cheyenne have an obvious love for dogs and a passion for helping people and pets succeed in training. Their knowledge and guidance have been instrumental in helping us learn to train our young German shepherd in a positive and productive way. We've seen major improvements in the short time we've been working with them and our, and our dog's, success in dealing with everyday situation has led to more confidence overall.

As someone who absolutely revels in the personality quirks of my Huskies, I was hesitant to enroll in any formal training. But our 4 yr old Shepsky had reached such a level of excited reactivity on our walks that I dreaded every moment of them. Pulling and barking every time he saw someone from a block away, determined to go play with them. I tried everything I could think of, and none of the tricks that worked with his housemate made walking him any easier. (Probably the fact that he was pretty well-mannered at home made it easy to ignore our walk issues, for way too long). I've always been a "take my dog everywhere" kind of person, but he was such a disturbance I didn't feel comfortable doing that anymore, and the shoulder and back injuries were piling up. Plus, I can't imagine what it was doing to his neck, even with a Gentle Leader. It kinda crushed me. I met Blake & Angelica at an event, and got a chance to see how their dogs were able to play and be dogs but also regain their composure when it was needed. I knew if I could get even a fraction of that control, I'd be able to enjoy walking my boys again. Blake and team did not disappoint. Within our first couple weeks of training Freki quieted down on our walks and the jumping/pulling subsided. We joined group classes where we were surrounded by dogs and he worked through his excitement into a calm, controlled state. I thought at first that Freki might dislike the training routine, since he couldn't just do whatever he wanted anymore. But every time we go to "school" he gets super excited and can't wait to see his friend Blake. And I know he also enjoys the extra attention he gets from us during training sessions too. We've been able to engage in activities that I never imagined would be possible for us, like taking him shopping and among other dogs. The time spent with Sit Means Sit has been life-changing for us. And I can't wait to get out on the trails again this summer! Thank you Blake for helping us guide our crazy pup into the good boy he always wanted to be!
