Enrolling our dog in the Sit Means Sit day training camp was truly one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. From our very first inquiry through the follow-up lessons, the entire team—especially our trainer, Kaylee—made the experience both enjoyable and informative. Our dog, Walter, had been struggling with leash behavior and anxiety around unfamiliar dogs. Kaylee took the time to explain the why behind his behaviors, and how their program would correct the behavior problems we were facing. The team was always available to answer our questions, both during and outside of lessons, which made us feel fully supported throughout the process. Today, Walter is more confident, calm, and happy on his walks—and he actually enjoys meeting new dogs! We’re incredibly grateful to Kaylee and everyone at Sit Means Sit for the positive impact you’ve had on our pup’s life.

It's been amazing working with kaylee. I was skeptical at first but after seeing the difference in my dog Maya since her first day of training I'm very thankful we took the leap of faith. The communication between Maya, my fiance and myself has improved ten fold. Maya had alot of trouble with her confidence and her impulse control. She never would come when asked or even care about anything we asked of her while being distracted by the world around her. Kaylee has worked wonders to give Maya the best foundation to build off of and surpassed all expectations. For anyone considering training for their dog, I highly reccomend Sit Means Sit. They don't just provide your pup with training but also walk you through step by step, everything they worked on during training. We are so happy with our time with Sit means sit! I have a pit mix she’s so fun and happy but started to show some signs of aggression towards other dogs when they would approach me or my partner. She was feeling over protective of us. She would chase our 2 cats and sometimes be territorial over things around the house, as well as get jealous petting or holding cats. Shes been doing fantastic since we started we have seen such a fast turn around. I could not recommend them enough. We had Halle for our training and she was amazing I’m so happy that you were paired with Halle Lulu was so happy and Seem to really bond with Halle! We were a bit hesitant at first because we learned that they use vibration colllars that also have the ability to shock in an emergency situation. They were super upfront with us about it. They let us feel what it would feel like and explain to us that This is not a form of punishment. This is to break the dogs focused when they’re really focused on something And will not listen this is to help them listen and look at you. Since Lulu has been using the collar and has been trained with it, she seems to Be responding really well to it. For instance, when she gets her nails clipped and we take the clippers out of the drawer, she runs away, but when I take the collar out and she sees it just like with her harness, she will stick her head in. So with that sense, I can tell that it does not hurt her or bother her but more guide her in her actions On what is the right thing to do and I think that helps her have more control when she is wearing it. I came across Sit Means Sit through a random ad on social media. I looked into the reviews and was impressed by what I saw especially when it came to others who had rescue dogs. We adopted our rescue dog, Sushi, in 2022. She is amazing and smart but struggles when going on walks and seeing other dogs. We wanted her to be able to go dog parks and not scare other dog owners by her reactions. We tried a private trainer but it didn’t seem to work for Sushi and we felt the trainer didn’t listen to us especially after we warned how Sushi would react at a dog park… and the trainer decided to still take Sushi there on her first day of training. We were resolved to just accept the fact Sushi couldn’t go on long walks with the chance of encountering other dogs. That was until we decided to try Sit Means Sit. The whole experience was amazing from start to finish. Their intake team communicated well and listened to our concerns. We were then paired up with our trainer Miranda. She also seemed to really listen to our concerns and assured us it would be okay. We did the 4 week training which consisted of us coming in once week for an hour after dropping Sushi off for an all day training session. The change we saw in Sushi after each session with Miranda was amazing. While we still have work to do with Sushi, there is hope that Sushi will be able to just enjoy other dogs and not be reactive to them. Miranda was patient, offered us constructive feedback and gave us pointers. Even though our 4 weeks with Sit Means Sit is over, they have followed up with us for further training and have been understanding of our scheduling conflicts. While it may seem scary or expensive at first, be assured that the training does work and will also depend on what you put into with your dog. We look forward to following up with additional training with Miranda and to continue to see the growth in Sushi.

Benito’s (Beni) journey with Sit Means Sit Portland has been incredible! Before training, we were overwhelmed—he had destroyed one of our comforters, and the next day, he ran out of the garage into a busy street, we were devastated. We knew we needed help, and a friend referred us to Sit Means Sit. From the moment we reached out, they were responsive and understanding. Jessica, who did our intake, was amazing. She listened carefully, asked all the right questions, and immediately put us at ease. Without hesitation, we enrolled Beni in the day train program, and it was the best decision we could have made. I was initially worried that using the collar might change Beni’s personality, but the results were the complete opposite. He is just as goofy, energetic, and loving as ever—if not more so! The difference is that now, we have the tools to allow him to fully express himself in a positive way, without destroying things or running away. Our trainer, Kaylee had a perfect balance of being loving and assertive. She provided us with great tools and always held us accountable while making sure we felt supported. She taught us how to properly use the collar in a way that created a positive experience for Beni. His recall has improved tremendously, he no longer destroys things in the house, and we’ve learned how to redirect his energy using the “place” command. We are forever grateful for Kaylee’s support with Benito. The flexible scheduling and excellent communication made the whole process smooth and stress-free.
