Sit Means Sit SGV, is hands down the best dog training company. Hi my name is Will and my dog is Blu. I adopted Blu from the Pasadena humane society in June of 2024 after loosing my soul dog to hip problems. Blu is a German husky. After adopting Blu from the humane society, he was sweet and very calm and loved everyone. Well after a couple weeks at home his husky side started to show. I couldn't leave him alone for more than 30 seconds without him jumping on my desk and tearing my papers to shred, pawing at the door when I was about to open it, zooming past the door when it opened, and husky crying to every dog that walked by on our daily walks. Not to mention the leash pulling was not fun either. After a couple of weeks of doing research, I came across Sit Means Sit website and saw the videos of all the dogs walking calmly and one dog in a down position while other dogs walked past. I immediately picked up my phone and called for a consultation. Lindsey, the office coordinator, scheduled me for a consult. Amy greeted me with kindness, and sat Blu and I down for a chat. She was asking me all the right questions, what does dog training mean to you, what are your goals, what are your problems. Every problem I stated she said with a smile, "we can help"! After she brought in her dog, Maveri, and showed me what the dog will learn through the training course. I was in Awe. After the consult I told Amy, I wanted to sign Blu up! Now here comes the moment your waiting for, the training review. Aaron the amazing trainer, worked Blu to sit with attention, Place on a place board, and come when starting to walk. I went home and practiced for the next week, 4 times a day. The next training was with Frank the amazing trainer. He showed Blu how to hand and heal and emergency place when guest arrive at the house. I went home and practiced for the next week, 4 times a day. The last session, Aaron worked on Blu's recall, sit in motion, and sit from afar. I was then promoted to group class where I kept practicing obedience with distractions. Fast forward to 7-9 weeks later, I have gotten over 50 compliments from random strangers saying that my dog is so trained! I pretty much take him most places off leash that is allowed. My relationship with my dog is 1,000% better. And lastly, I'm not afraid to take him places because I have control over my dog. He patiently waits for the door to open, places on objects I tell him to so l can walk my house freely, and he heals with attention off leash on our daily walks around the neighborhood. Lastly I wanted to mention a couple of things. After the second week, my family was so impressed over how fast my dog was learning. The trainers are so incredibly nice and well educated on dog training that they have many ways of teaching a dog a command. I have met really nice friends that l allow my dog to play with, without the worry of something happening, since the other dogs are well trained. The atmosphere of this dog training community is so welcoming! If you are looking for dog training, and have any doubts, I promise you Sit Means Sit SGV is hands down the way to go!
