Sit Means Sit San Gabriel Valley

Around 6 months ago we were referred to Sit means Sit by our Glendora vet for training. A then rambunctious 8 month old not knowing her manners. What an amazing job all the trainers have done during these past six months. The trainers are all super knowledgeable and really care about each individual dog and their needs. Our pup is a completely different dog with her training. We have been able to use those training techniques in helping us use the same at home. She now listens and has manners. I highly recommend Sit Means Sit for dog training. Thank you to Issac and all the Trainers!

I can honestly say the third time was really the charm. After trying what felt like every other program, technique, and advice that never quite stuck, I finally found something that truly worked with Sit Means Sit. The difference has been nothing short of incredible. My dog didn’t just improve a little, the transformation has been complete. Behaviors that once felt impossible to manage are now consistent and reliable. What really stood out to me was how effective and structured the approach is. It’s not just about teaching commands, it’s about building communication, trust, and clarity between me and my dog. I feel more confident as an owner, and my dog is more relaxed, focused, and responsive. It’s like we finally understand each other. Caring for my grand-dog, Mando, has been both a challenge and a blessing. After the loss of my son (his dad), Mando went through a difficult period—he became very protective of me and reactive toward unfamiliar people. Wanting to help him feel safe and happy again, I reached out to Sit Means Sit for guidance. From our very first consultation, they reassured me that Mando could improve, and they truly delivered. After a few individual sessions and ongoing group classes since November 2025, the transformation has been remarkable. Mando is back to being the sweet, loving, and friendly dog he has always been! The trainers have been incredibly patient, kind, and understanding throughout the entire process. Mando now genuinely enjoys attending classes, which says so much about the positive environment they’ve created. Started training off well, our dog was improving and she was getting a great foundation down for basic obedience but we specifically went there because we were promised we'd work on her aggression and behavioral problems, shes reactive to other dogs. We started sessions when our dog was 6 months but she is now over 1 years old and we continued to struggle. whenever we'd share our concerns and request individual training it was a band aid to her reactivity it was never explained or addressed to us where we could understand. We were very hands on with her and worked every day on her training took her to as many group classes as we possibly could.The group classes were great for the first two months after that it became repetitive. The reactivity became manageable and we were able to take her out more often..but as she got older her aggression was never addressed at sit means sit and we started to not see improvements anymore. She started to get more reactive in home with our other pets and began to resource guard. Anytime we'd address our concerns we were dismissed and told Zoey is doing great she looks good all because we were able to manage her well in group class. We did also have an incident in group class where someone in group left their dog off leash to come up to us luckily i had my dog held but the rest of class my dog was very stressed out. After that incident we did not want to take her to group class as we didnt feel comfortable or safe. Our concerns were dismissed we had to request a yellow bandana they did try to say she didnt need it. They gave us half of a ripped yellow bandana that didnt even fit our dog. We gave it a try for a bit longer but not much improvement after the incident. We learned a few tips and tricks but I just dont think this was the right fit for our dog and for her behavioral problems. I am now learning we needed behavioral modification training to deal with her reactivity and sit means sit is not the place for that. Atleast for us it felt like we were forgotten and didnt get to have it addressed as much as we'd like. Its ok not every dog fits this kind of training. I just feel a little lied to as they made all these promises during evaluations showed us their dogs and guaranteed we could get to that point, that we can work on fun tricks, that they will create a plan for our dog Zoey to work on her reactivity and not much was met other than basic obedience. Anybody that knows us knows our dog is our world and we dedicate all our extra time for her and even plan our trips around her. It sucks that with people like us who are able to take the time and train and do the most were not able to have a success story at sit means sit.
