Shelby had our little pup Yeli for 2 weeks. His transformation was amazing. He learned heel, place, come and off just to name a few. It’s been a couple years since he’s been there but his recall of the commands is amazing. Shelby was great at communicating with us and sharing photos and videos of what they worked on each day! Would very highly recommend Shelby! She will treat your furry friend like her own!!

100% recommend! Shelby is incredibly professional and is obviously an expert in dog training. She puts in extra work to get to know the dog’s personality before tailoring a regimen that works specifically for the owner’s concerns. Her compassion for animals is incredible - she deeply cares about and follows the growth of her clients. My dog is super excitable and can get hyper around visitors, but with Shelby’s help, he is now much calmer and listens to commands the first time given. I am so grateful that I trusted Shelby and will always recommend her services to friends and family!

I wish I could give Sit Pretty Dog Training more than 5 stars! Shelby is not just knowledgeable when it comes to dog training but she is also intuitive to the dogs themselves. This is not just a job for her, it’s something she thoroughly enjoys - and it shows. She offers not only strict training but love and compassion for the growth of each dog she works with. We’ve tried other companies before for our fur babies but never quite had the success we did when working with Shelby. There is no behavior, task or anything she is not willing to work on for our dogs. For any and all dog training needs, Sit Pretty is the one. Whether your pup needs a few small behavioral adjustments, general puppy obedience, or something more advanced - look no further than Sit Pretty! Shelby is an absolute godsend and a true master of her craft. I spent months trying to train my recently adopted 4-year-old English Shepherd, Max, but nothing seemed to work. He’s got some anxiety, was always under my feet at home, was NOT great on a leash, and was incredibly reactive to loud noises (vacuum, blender) and the rolling wheel (bikes, skateboards). It was impossible to manage or mitigate any of it while we were outside of the house because of the high distraction level in my area. When I decided to turn to a professional, I interviewed several big-name companies as well as individuals, like Shelby, and I knew from the first email that I was talking to a person who genuinely cared about my dog's needs. She accommodated my crazy work schedule to set up a time that worked on my end to discuss my concerns in more detail, we went over pricing and the different training programs Sit Pretty provides. She was honest and upfront about what would be the most effective program (board and train) but never tried to push/convince me towards any decision. Her communication leading up to, and throughout the training program went above and beyond the call of duty. She was so thoughtful and detailed in every report she sent, it was clear that every update was truly personalized to Max, what he was learning, and how he was progressing. Not even 8-hours after drop off, I had a fully detailed report, so many photos, and a video of Max being a total rockstar dog. I was almost in tears at how much progress she had made in less than one day! She was great about sticking to the medications and schedule he’s on and was so attentive to his paws and other sensitive areas I mentioned to her. If I had any questions, whether it was sunrise or late into the night, she immediately got back to me. Truly there was never a single moment during his 2-week stay when I felt unsure about how well he was being taken care of. Two nights before turnover I had a laundry list of questions about how to maintain his progress at home, and she took the time to respond to all of them (both in writing and again at graduation/turn-over). He even came home looking better because she bathed/groomed him and trimmed his nails! I’m over the moon happy to say that every single behavioral concern I had is officially a thing of the past; I’ve seen 0 regression in his behavior, and I’m confident he will continue to be the world's best-behaved dog as long as I stay consistent with what Shelby taught him (and me). I honestly can’t thank her enough, or say enough nice things about her and the company she’s built!

We met Shelby when we were really struggling with our pup, Boston. With a few previously trained dogs, we knew we needed to bite the bullet while she was a younger puppy before her behaviors got too out of hand. Since training, Boston has become the pup we always dreamed of her to be! She’s silly, playful, social and obedient! Shelby really helped us cultivate that! I trust Shelby not only with Boston but all of my pups! Bones, Battle, Baby and Boston all love Shelby like a second home!
