You can tell they genuinely love what they do, and it shows in the way they care for each and every dog like their own. Our pup absolutely loves her time there- whether it’s boarding, daycare, or training, she comes home happy, tired from play, and better behaved every time! It gives us such peace of mind knowing she’s not only safe, but also having the time of her life. What sets Sit Stay Play apart is their thoughtfulness. They pay attention to the little things…from updates and photos to making sure each dog is comfortable, engaged, and loved. We’ve never had a moment of worry. We couldn’t recommend them more. We originally brought our dog to SIT-STAY-PLAY for obedience training, and the impact of that training is still very much in effect today. Zach’s expertise and approach to training have left a lasting impression, and our dog still respects and understands the boundaries set during those sessions. This experience made it an easy decision to continue using SIT-STAY-PLAY for boarding and daycare. The facility is always spotless, and it’s clear that safety and comfort are top priorities. The staff is incredibly professional, well-educated, and friendly, ensuring open communication so we always know how our dog is doing. One of the highlights is the spacious play areas that give the dogs plenty of room to run, play, and socialize, which we truly appreciate. Having video cameras available is another great option that gives us peace of mind to check in anytime. My wife and I were going on an Alaskan cruise two weeks ago and our dog sitter canceled on us at 4 weeks before we are supposed to fly out to Vancouver. So, 4 weeks before we go on this cruise, I called “Sit, Stay and Play” which is what Hickman Creek kennels used to be. I loved those people andmy family and I had been loyal and happy customers of Hickman Creek Kennel for over 20 years. I explained my situation to the receptionist and asked if they had room (bc of July 4th) and what I needed to do to have my four dogs boarded for 10 days. I had to get each of my dogs five shots and my 4 1/2 year-old Great Dane and my one and a half year year-old Lab mix had to be neutered. I DID all of this and spent thousands of dollars in preparation for spending thousands of dollars to board them at “Sit, Stay and Play”. I’m in a bind and I really want to go on this Cruise so what can I do? Over several days and many visits to the veterinary office I continue to be in contact with Sit, Stay annd Play and repeatedly asked “is there anything else I need to do so that my dogs can come stay?”. If the receptionist likes Malaysian honey on her toast, I’ll get her Malaysian honey, I just need to make sure my dogs will be allowed to stay. And for the fifth or sixth time I was told as long as I had done everything I said I had done and had the paperwork from the vets office everything would be fine “we are good to go”. We get to drop off day. Luckily, my sister sends her dog to daycamp at sit stay and play sometimes so she went to drop her dog off and then was going to come help me with my four dogs. It’s while she was inside. They told her that my reservation had been canceled because I missed a meet and greet appointment and so they assumed I just wasn’t dropping them off and canceled my reservation. “Can we do the meet and greet now?” My sister asked like any rational person would and was told it wasn’t possible, and the kennel is full anyways. I do think the good Lord that I was in the car because if they had told me this to my face after the weeks I had had preparing to drop my dogs off here. I probably would’ve had a mental breakdown after screaming in my car and scaring the hell out of my dogs who were already very nervous. I went back home and made other arrangements (Because that’s what everyone who is leaving their home to go on a cruise to Alaska for 10 days DREAMS about is finding someone to watch their four dogs for 10 days, 36 hours before they get on a plane to leave ). I wanted to thoroughly explain why NOBODY should give this ridiculously run business any of their money. I believe that bc I was honest with them that one of my dogs is not the best around other dogs/people not in his pack but he’s not dangerous…..just guarded. I think they either got nervous about that or (more likely)they just simply overbooked the kennel and said we’ll just screw over this guy. NOBODY TRIED TO REACH OUT AND SAY WE’RE CANCELING YOUR RESERVATION!!!!!! Not a text, not a phone call, not even an e-mail. This PHANTOM “meet and greet appointment I missed was never scheduled. It’s just a really terrible position to put someone in who’s trying to go on vacation and I had reached out to their office many, many, many times to make sure I had done everything I needed to do. I have no idea if they treat the animals good or bad, but I would assume on how they treat their customers that they probably don’t do the best job, but, again NO PROOF OF ANY WRONG DOING TOWARDS ANIMALS, it’s just my honest, very biased and very unhappy opinion of this ridiculously terrible business. I wouldn’t pay these people to watch a goldfish and turtles. I see the response below. Odd a person would spend thousands of dollars at a veterinary clinic to prepare the dogs to go to the boarding house without getting clearance after a mandatory meeting is supposed to take place. My dogs where there in the parking lot if you had room why was a meet n greet not done? I’m a small business owner too, it’s not my policy to let thousands of dollars walk out the door.
