Skyward K9 Training

Taking my dog to Skyward K-9 Training changed my life!!! Brittany is absolutely amazing. She is knowledgeable, honest, and very communicative. Trusting someone with your pet is hard (especially as a first time dog owner), but she eases all those nerves and now she is one of the only people I trust my pet with truly! I took my aggressive and reactive dog to Skyward K-9 after a few scary instances. I was lost and didn’t know what to do, so I started seeking out training. I met with multiple trainers but had a friend tell me about Skyward K-9, so I made a consult here as well. I was uneasy about everyone else I had met with, but knew within minutes that this was the place for us. I took my 3, almost 4 year old (maybe retriever/ spaniel mix) to Brittany for an 8 week board and train. Not only was she very transparent about her training process, and that she can’t guarantee a perfect, nonaggressive version of my dog, but she truly listened to me and my concerns. Throughout training, she sent me almost daily videos of the progress being made and training exercises being done (I still revert back to these videos when I’m wanting to tune up some behavior). Training is done every day in our house, but doesn’t feel like a “task” because she made it fun for us. Nothing is more satisfactory than physically seeing the work in action. Now I know this may not be the case for everyone, but my dog has never been happier and we have not had ANY aggression since having him back for almost 5 months now. She really found my dogs triggers through creating trust first which was very important for my pup. My dogs basic obedience was extremely cleaned up, and he learned some new commands to help us with some of his anxiety and personal space issues which we used multiple times a day! She desensitized him to grooming and nail trimming which typically caused a scary reaction from him before. The quality of life our little family has now is leaps and BOUNDS above what it was before. Brittany educated me on training and my dogs behavioral ticks more than I would have every expected! I am 100% a better dog owner because of this, and I can CONFIDENTLY take my dog in public and trust in the training we have. My dog has been with me through some really hard times, and had an abusive past before I rescued him which are very hard obstacles to overcome. Together, we hurdled over these obstacles and to see the outcome of the work put in is amazing. No amount of words can describe my gratitude for Skyward K-9 Training, and the success we have had. It was worth every penny spent, and I would do it all over again! If you are thinking about board and train or private lessons, I recommend reaching out and seeing what your options are!
