Solid K9 Training Academy

Jeff & Joelle changed our lives. We started with Solid K9 when our Great Dane puppy was 5 months old and approximately 115 pounds. My 80 year old mother was afraid of him. After ONE 1:1 session, her fear was gone. Over the last 4 months, our puppy has grown to about 175 pounds and learned so many commands. We can walk him on a leash, take him to places and in general, we are all living our best lives. Thank you Jeff & Joelle! 💗

Our lab, Chase, was extremely reactive to other dogs, to the point where he could only have limited interactions with our other lab, nor could he continue to show in confirmation because of his reactivity. Jeff and Joelle accepted Chase in their board and train program, and the results have amazed us! Chase is now much calmer, both at home and away from home, and he interacts very well with our other dog. Our two dogs go on walks outside our neighborhood daily, and those walks are no longer a stressful wrestling match. Their approach of starting with basic behaviors (crate, thresholds, etc,) and building from those into basic obedience worked wonders with Chase. If you saw their video of Chase’s arrival for the board and train, you wouldn’t recognize Chase as the same dog today. We would strongly recommend their training to anyone with a dog that exhibits behavior issues. Here are a couple of pictures of the “new” Chase at home with his new best friend. We never imagined we would see this, but Jeff and Joelle’s training approach definitely works!

If you told us after our first phone consultation with Jeff in September how our lives were going to change for the better with our dog, we would have laughed. But I kid you not, this conversation has changed our lives for the better. Wrinkles has a bite history. He hates anyone except those that are living in his home. He would bark constantly at any delivery truck going by the house and go absolutely bananas if they pulled into the driveway. He was either in the kennel or wearing a muzzle with the leash on if we had company over and he would be barking like a mad man trying to get out to attack. He would pull you on a walk. He ran this home, and we were his servants. Let’s not start with the car rides—roll down the windows, and he is up barking. Try to put groceries in the trunk, and he is trying to climb over the seat to get out. Someone walks by, or we pass them on the street, and he is barking and trying to attack. We have been through five trainers before we found Jeff & Joelle. We felt like we had failed our dog even though he was in training as a puppy, we brought him everywhere with us, socialized him and even did a board and train with a different provider. Wrinkles came home from this board and train with an e-collar, but we were never educated on how to use this tool. We were told if he does something we don’t want him to do correct him. We were told our dog was fearful or had fear aggression and put him on doggie Prozac, which did not go well for him. So here we are at an eye appointment talking about dogs with the receptionist, and she tells me about Solid K9 Training. I follow them on Instagram. I see they have a website, and I log on and take a look, book my free consultation with Jeff, and our life changed at this point. We joined the Fast Track program. We got access to the online classes, training calls twice a week, and access to the Heartbeat Community. We started with the Green to Graduate Program. The classes were broken into sections and are very easy to follow and full of knowledge. At first, we thought, "Oh, we are going to go backwards to go forward with this class." Well, the joke was on us as these classes laid the foundation for success. I would have told you before this class that Wrinkles was trained—he would sit, stay, down, speak, give a high five. That is not training, people. We learned how to use the e-collar as a communication tool. We had company over and they have seen Wrinkles at his worst. He was in his kennel and did not make a sound for the 3 hours while they were here; to the point they asked if he was ok! Our mail lady came into the home and was near his kennel—no reaction at all. Before Wrinkles would have been barking, showing his teeth and trying to bite her. She was amazed at the progress. Most recently we took him to Lowes to do some training and let me share how nervous we were but again shocked at how well he did in the store—no reaction, no barking, no growling, no lunging. We are so grateful for Solid K9 Training with Jeff and Joelle for their time and commitment to helping us address Wrinkles unwanted behaviors. For educating us on how to properly train our dog. For helping us understand the E-collar and how to use this as a communication tool with Wrinkles. I wish we found Jeff & Joelle sooner but so grateful for them. Words cannot express how incredible their training is and how much better our life is because of their 90 day Fast Track program.

Started my journey with SolidK9 because of fighting housemates. We felt like we were at rock bottom and would need to start looking into rehoming one of our dogs. We went through their 90 day fast track program which was rigorous but thorough. Jeff and Joelle provided constant and extremely helpful support through and even after our time in the program. If you’re looking for some QUICK and RELIABLE help, you’re in the right place. These guys are direct, their style is not for everyone but they produce great and long lasting results for even some of the more dire situations. And even better in this day and age, virtually! I know it sounds crazy but their virtual guidance is so good you will have a dog that is comparable or even better than a traditional board and train. Could never thank these two and this program enough.
