Speaking K9

When we adopted Fender at 5 months old, I was in full puppy blues 😩. He was chasing cars 🚗💨, showing signs of aggression 😔, and I was in tears more than once. I even told my husband we might have to surrender him 💔… but first, I said, “Let’s try a training class.” And wow — Speaking K9 completely changed everything! 🙌 Fender has come SO far 🐾, and more importantly, I learned how to handle him, build trust, and feel confident. This class didn’t just train my dog — it trained me. 🐶💪

I can’t say enough good things about Speaking K9 and their incredible trainers, Amee and Lindsey. They worked with my 6-month-old Sheepadoodle, Tahoe, through their Board & Train program along with weekly follow-up trainings—and the results have been amazing. Tahoe is a sweet and playful pup, but she could be a little aloof and definitely needed structure. Amee and Lindsey worked on every aspect of basic obedience and, more importantly, taught me how to work with her effectively. The transformation has been impressive—Tahoe is now a well-behaved, responsive dog, but she still has her playful personality and can enjoy herself appropriately in different settings. What truly sets Speaking K9 apart is the level of communication and support they provide. Amee and Lindsey took extra time to explain their methods, made sure I was confident in continuing the training at home, and have always been available to answer any questions along the way. I recently rescued a beautiful Border Collie from a shelter. I could tell he was loving and incredibly smart, but I couldn't get him to follow commands or stop destructive behaviors like chewing couch pillows. Lindsey came over and completely changed the situation. She showed me proper leash control, educated me on dog behaviors, and worked directly with my dog. The results were amazing, he's like an entirely new dog! After just one session and following Lindsey's recommendations, he stopped pulling on the leash, having accidents in the house, and destroying furniture. Now when unleash him to let him roam freely, he checks in with me regularly. I had no idea one lesson could make such a big difference. I can't recommend them enough and I'm looking forward to more lessons.

We just finished the puppy class at Speaking K9 and while we don't know that our puppy should have graduated (he's stubborn one) we are grateful for our time with Lindsey and the team. As first time dog owners we came away from the classes feeling much more capable and informed. Before the class we felt very out of control and chaotic. We want to take the puppy class again with our kids and continue with the other training classes. The classes were alway fun and so helpful!
