Spot On! Dog Training

I am so very grateful that I found Mike Joseph and his wonderfully compassionate and intelligent dog training team. I was at my wits end with two rescue dogs that I took in a year and a half ago. They are very sweet dogs, but they were controlling me rather than the other way around. I was developing back problems because my standard poodle would pull the hell out of my arm and back on walks. I had no control over her. She is a very fearful dog and will jump at any sound and has suddenly pulled me to the ground out of nowhere several times I’ve been very fortunate to not be hurt. My toy poodle won’t stop barking at my customers that come in. I take my dogs to work with me. I decided to really pray about the situation so I would get the right trainer. The very next day, Spot On! Dog Training appeared on my Facebook news feed and I just felt I was supposed to give them a call within an hour Mike called me and set up an appointment for the very next day. He came to my house and gave a demonstration to me on my standard poodle, and I was absolutely amazed that she turned and went to him. He said that the weeklong boarding and training program would be a good fit. This training is expensive to put out money all at once, but I was willing to jump in and do it and I did. It was worth every penny. My dogs were well cared for and well trained over those seven days that I had them with Mike and his team. When I came to pick them up I was in complete awe of the work that had gone on. I was trained on how to use the E collar and the remote control. Just within two hours of returning home with my dogs, I could not believe the difference. My anxious dog to say the least is much calmer when she’s wearing her collar and leash and we’re working to get her to be even more comfortable. My son lives with me while he goes to graduate school, and the dog was so incredibly fearful of him. I think he reminds her of whoever hurt her. She’s even coming to him now and I’m able to walk her now with her heeling and not pushing me down and ruining my back. Toby my toy poodle is still learning how to not bark, but it has definitely made a difference. For success one must continue the training at home, which I am doing religiously all day long since my dogs are at work with me. With the board and training program you get four training sessions a year for the life of the dog and lifetime support anytime you need it. I had trouble getting the collar on Honey the other morning and I texted Mike Joseph and he texted right back on how to help me. I’m in phase one of the training and obviously the goal is to not have to use the collar and have the dogs answering the commands. I don’t have to use the collar on a few occasions with the walking my dogs are now answering to heel. Thank you so much, Mike for everything we’re grateful to be a part of the Spot On! We did the week long board and train with our stubborn little corgi, Mango. They sent daily updates and demoed everything for us when we picked her up. We already notice a difference in her attention and response to our commands. Thank you so much to Mike and your team! The best part- you get four sessions each calendar year to keep up with everything. We will definitely be taking advantage of that!

I was DESPERATE. I got this darling puppy and could not train her. She is my 4th dog of the same breed. I thought I was pretty experienced. I tried 2 different training programs for a total of 20 weeks. We got nowhere. Nothing seemed to stick. I was so frustrated and stressed out. I finally decided to try a more personalized approach. I interviewed 3 training companies. When Mike came out to discuss Spot On Dog Training, I asked him if she was trainable. He assured me she was. She just needed more direct training. When he demonstrated the e-collar on my dog, I had some hope. She seemed to respond a little bit. Mike said the best program for her was the Board and Train. This would provide more training opportunities and the best results for my "stubborn" puppy. I took her there the next week and hoped I would come back to a better dog. I loved the daily reports and pictures. At first she looked nervous in the pictures so I checked in and Mike reassured me that was her being focused. When I came back for MY training session I was pleased to see my pup still loved me. I received 1.5 hours of training and took over working her after the trainer showed me what she had learned. She wasn't perfect but so much better than she was. We still have some work to do at home. I am so pleased with the results. Plus knowing I have lifetime support is comforting. This pup and I will need it I'm sure. After 1 and a half days, I am already so glad I took my baby to Spot On. Worth every penny.

Mike and his team of trainers are passionate about training both the dogs and owners! The facility and kennels are impressive and the dogs receive great training, play, and social time in a variety of environments. At pickup, we received a lesson for the commands and the trainer was very kind and patient with us as well as willing to answer all our questions. One day home and we see such a difference in our dogs and appreciate the peace of mind that comes from the lifetime support offered. Will definitely recommend to friends! Thank you Spot On!

Spot On Dog Training is the best! The staff is very knowledgeable, caring, and professional. They really treat your dog like their own. My biggest concern was my pups safety because he eats everything and they went above and beyond to make sure he was safe and he’s been so much better with eating stuff after training. They took him on many field trips and were great about sending daily pics and updates. I couldn’t be happier with my experience! Thank you to Mike and his amazing staff! 5++⭐️
