St Paul Dog Training Club

We currently have our lab mix in agility classes. We've had to miss 6 classes in 2 sessions (20 classes). When I asked if we could make up the classes, I was told no. " Issuing class credit is rare because it is difficult to administer and determine fairness when students ask. " Curious, they think it's fair to allow their students to pay and not receive the service they paid for! Beware! Other facilities actually encourage students to make up classes! We'll be going elsewhere.

Enrolled my shepherd in nose work May 2015. He had completed beginner class at Lk Elmo Animal Inn a few mos. earlier. Reasons to shop elsewhere: (1) MUST be a member and pay dues--classes are still priced about the same as other training facilities that don't require membership; (2) you are expected to stay in the same class (i.e. day/time) as your dog advances through different levels--the next block of classes typically starts a week or 2 after the previous one has ended so really no "breather"; (3) if you decide you want some time off (i.e., take the summer off), you are told that you can't come back to the same time/day class as your dog will be behind--I wanted a break over the summer and didn't care if I came back to the same day/time (I'm not married to the other people in class!) but would have been willing to be in a different class. No go. After one block of nose work at St. Paul, I quit. Their policies are pretty inflexible. In calling around, I found another trainer who said my dog would be welcome in her nose work class--she currently had one class with dogs at various levels.
