Stand Proud Dog Training

Stand Proud Dog Training has completely transformed my aggressively anxious dog. About a year ago, my 60lb rescue dog started to become very aggressive towards my son and guests, and ended up biting my daughter's friend. When I would try to take him on walks, he would fight the leash, bark non-stop at anything he saw, and would pull so hard that he couldn't breathe. We got to the point that something needed to change or we'd have to surrender him. At a very embarrassing and intense vet appointment, my veterinarian highly recommended sending my dog to the Stand Proud Dog Training board-and-train minor behavior modification program. I am so glad I did! Before the training, Brandon came to our house to get to know my family and dog. He was extremely kind and understanding of our situation. This was the first time I didn't feel judged and that there was hope for my dog. Brandon and I met a couple more times for individual lessons and he was so helpful and amazing with my dog. My dog spent a little over 3 weeks at their facility and when we picked him up, he was a completely different dog! I can now take my dog on walks where I'm the one in charge. Neighbors have commented on how well behaved my dog is and my 9 year old is able to walk him with ease. Thank you so much, Brandon and the entire staff at Stand Proud Dog Training. ​​As an anxious first time dog parent, I had a tough time figuring out where to start with training my rescue pup, Suka. However, from my very first phone call with Danielle, I knew Stand Proud would be a great fit for us! When I first got Suka, she was reactive on the leash toward other dogs, she didn’t know how to contain her excitement around humans, and I needed help reinforcing basic commands. After having a consultation with Brandon, I felt confident that he, Austin and Ian would be able to help Suka and I reach our goals. It has been about nine months since Suka stayed with Stand Proud for a board and train program. She now has great house manners and has stopped jumping on visitors, can walk on leash without reactivity, and holds her commands until released. With the help of follow-up lessons, Suka’s recall has greatly improved and she is also now able to walk off leash, which is something I never thought would be possible! She accompanies me on errands to dog friendly stores (where we always get compliments on her good behavior) and I was recently able to take her on a trip to the coast where she “placed” perfectly for an entire meal at an outdoor restaurant full of distractions and other dogs. Needless to say, she has completely transformed as a dog! I have had a wonderful experience working with everyone at Stand Proud and appreciate their continued availability to answer questions, their quick response time, and patience while teaching both Suka and I how to use our new tools! Suka loves going for boarding to see all her trainers!

I just wanted to say thank you again and again to Austin. My hubs and I went for a walk around the neighborhood last night. It was amazing! Kya, our 4 month old cattle dog, was so well behaved! No leash pulling, sitting when we stopped walking ❤️ She even sat and let each of the neighborhood kids comes up, one at a time, and pet her. I know Kya loved that attention because her tail never stopped wagging. She didn't nip at them at all and there were many doggie kisses to be had. We were out for about an hour just around the neighborhood. She sat still as cars went past. There were even a couple dogs we passed with no issues.
