Really disappointed with our boarding experience and after talking to some coworkers and friends they also had bad experiences with boarding. I would like to preface that I worked at a dog boarding facility for a year. I didn’t receive any report what so ever about if they ate, had any issues, had any stomach problems, etc etc. I have a hard time believing my two huskies were all of sudden perfect angels at a boarding facility. I asked for them to be bathed and originally was going to pick them up Monday but we got into town 30 minutes after they closed which is 6pm. Which is wild, most people don’t get off work until 5pm. That’s such a narrow window of time to pick up your dog. Picking them up a day later than planned was on me and i should have paid closer attention to when they closed for me to pick them up. Anyways when i picked them up Tuesday afternoon the dogs were damp and covered in poop and so was all of their bedding. I called them to ask about a refund for the baths since i ended up having to bath them myself. At this point i was informed they do not let the dogs out to potty. They just let them piss and poop in the same place they sleep and clean the run once a day. They only got to leave their run because i paid extra for them to have one hour of play time together outside. This is absolutely disgusting to me. When i worked at a boarding facility we let them out every hour and cleaned their runs in the morning and the evening and in between if there was any accidents in the runs. My oldest has bald spots and fur missing on his elbows which weren’t there when we dropped them off. I guess you get what you paid for. Really disappointed as we wanted a regular place to board as we have a lot of traveling plans coming up this year and next year.
