Starr Dog Behavior

We had a great experience with Joseph! We have a very energetic 1 y/o King Charles Cavalier who has a hard time following commands. We were amazed at how quickly Joseph was able to transform our dog to be calm and obedient. He was also super patient with us giving us lots of tips and advice that we could immediately put into practice. You can tell that Joseph knows dogs and is an expert at teaching them good behavior. I was amazed that he was able to seamlessly teach our dog to stay away from the cat food in a very short period of time which is something we had been struggling with for a while. He’s the real deal! I told him he’s like the dog whisperer and I truly meant it! Thanks Joseph!

We cannot speak highly enough of our experience with Starr Dog Behavior. Frankie is an 8-month-old Bernedoodle. She is a very energetic, affectionate, needy puppy. Frankie has (had!) trouble calming herself down once she gets excited. I don't know where we would be without Joseph and his unique "dog whisperer" talents. Frankie now responds instinctively to the commands place, sit and down. She walks without pulling her leash or chasing squirrels, which was incredibly challenging for her. Most importantly, she seems calmer and eases into different situations. Joseph is passionate about this work. He trains dogs and owners, and it is vital to him that both are equipped with the tools to be successful. He communicates well and often while your dog is in his care. Again, we can't speak highly enough!!

My experience with Starr dog behavior training has been very good. I have a 6-year-old Goldendoodle who is generally good dog but we needed to up his game as I was trying to make him a therapy dog at a Metroplex hospital for patients. He would tug on leash, urinate throughout walks to mark his territory, and react unpredictably to other dogs. They got to the point where my wife hated walking him in the neighborhood. Joseph explained that Rocky was exhibiting alfa behavior rather than follower behavior. He was very helpful in addressing these issues and particularly since the dog had 6 years of developing these bad habits. When I picked him up I had additional training to continue making progress from the board and training and to teach my wife, children, and/or dog walker how he was to be treated and trained. It is made a huge difference in the quality of our life. We live in a high-rise and so the dog requires being walked at least twice a day. Big dogs also usually require a fair amount of exercise in order to stay calm. Rocky already got his good canine citizen award and is well on his way to becoming a therapy dog.

Now, she waits patiently at every threshold until she’s invited out. She has a solid understanding of her commands and is truly a dream to be around. Want your dog to stay in place? Walk on a leash? Sit? Come? Chill on a patio? Well dream big because he can make it happen! And the best part? Birdie came home calm. Yes—calm. Who can say that about a 5-month-old puppy, let alone a doodle?
