Steady On Point

Alan was fantastic with our German Short Haired Pointer Hank. We started with the two week obedience training and noticed a world of difference there. We then took our dog home and worked with him and brought him back to Alan for the bird hunting training. Alan communicated everything so throughly from start to finish and Hank did such a great job at only 13 months becoming a bird hunting dog. Alan was very attentive and patient with Hank and the two truly formed a bond. Thank you Alan for all your hard work!

Alan trained my first setter 12 years ago. My setter, Buck, was a great hunting dog and companion. A close friend of mine, who field trials pointers, preferred to hunt over Buck. Alan did a great job with Buck. Buck held point through the shot, released cleanly on command and had solid retrieves. When I had to put Buck down due to cancer, I got a new setter pup, Tucker, and immediately went to Alan for training. Just got Tucker back from Alan and the dog looks great! Holds point steady through the shot, works the field cleanly and in control. Alan helps bring out the bird drive in the dog and then puts a 'steering wheel' on the dog without compromising the dogs’ spirit and natural desire. A properly trained owner is as important as a properly trained dog. Alan works with you on proper handling and training methods. It will make a world of difference for you and your best hunting buddy. I cannot wait till next fall and get Tucker in the field.

When researched trainers, I found Steady On Point, and I depended on Google reviews. I am glad I trusted the reviews. Alan transformed my dog Maeve. She is a 2 YO field golden retriever, who I will occasionally hunt with, but she is primarily a family dog. She was stubborn and wild when I brought her to Alan and I am now going home with a dog that my family is really going to enjoy. I always knew she was smart, but Alan showed me how smart and enjoyable she can be. Alan always gave me updates, and was very responsive when I asked questions.
