Stevenson Gun Dog and Obedience

Our family is beyond thankful for all of the work that Jeff and Kade put into training our dog. We had several trainers come out to our home to help us with Kevin's behavior in the yard without truly addressing the situation. Our dog struggled with chasing kids, lawn mowers, bikes and delivery drivers. Jeff and Kade put our dog in all of those situations and trained him how to act appropriately. I was to the point where I was not allowing my dog to roam in my yard without a leash since I didn't have control over him with verbal commands. I was in constant stress when my children had friends and got to the point where I would kennel him if we had company. After spending two months with Stevenson's our dog came home to us with all of the manners he needed to make me feel at ease. I wish our family would have known about Stevenson's years ago. My elementary school daughter is now happily taking him on walks because he no longer pulls on the leash. I looked forward to the weekly visits for our dog to show us what he had learned. Sending our beloved dog away for two months was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever made. After my first visit I knew that sending Kevin to training was the best decision. Jeff's communication is great! He sent videos and called and texted with updates on how Kevin was doing throughout the week. When I went to visit you could tell that Jeff and Kade loved my dog and Kevin loved them too! If you are on the fence don't wait!

My guy and I have taken all three of our hunting dogs to Jeff, beginning with Bailey - our 9 year old springer lab mix. Bailey was gun-shy and frustrating to hunt with…. Bailey came home with a drive to hunt and a job. Then Reggie - our Deutsche Langhaar - Jeff took a bit earlier at 5 1/2 months. Reggie is an extremely driven and focused hunter with manners and personality - Jeff and Reggie formed a strong bond and she has remained an incredible dog/hunter/companion and has impressed even her breeder with her demeanor. In fact, he was so impressed that he asked us to take a puppy who was a bit shy, Gemma, so Reggie could show Gemma how to grow into a stable and secure adult! Jeff and Kade now have Gemma and she is doing beautifully! We could not be more pleased. We love the visits and “show off” sessions! Jeff has a style with our dogs that just works! He is kind, firm and considerate of his time and works in parameters that fit the personality and desire to learn and please each dog naturally has for their owner. He is passing all of his nuances on to Kade who is a true dog trainer at heart just like his Dad! We will continue to support this training family! Any questions are met with thoughtful answers and there is not a time limit on the discussion - he will be clear and wants everyone to understand. Where to start! Jeff and his team have changed the way I look at hunting and my dogs obedience. In my 30 years of hunting I have never had better control or more fun hunting with my dogs. Around the house my dogs are calm and listen to every command, even from my kids!! If you’re serious about having your dog trained in obedience or hunting do yourself a favor and speak to Jeff first. He is simply the best and as long as he’s training, I’ll never use anyone else!!!
