STK9 Training Company

Joe with STK9 is a wonderful trainer who really understood our dog Izzy’s needs. We adopted her from a shelter and he equipped us with tools to establish good behavior and she had shown vast improvement in just a few weeks. Joe addressed several different situations and taught us how to instruct our pup with patience and ease. We now feel best equipped to promote her good behavior and feel that Izzy is a happier dog as a result! The training sessions for Izzy and us as her humans were so effective and actually quite easy because the expertise that STK9 offers is top notch. She’s the best behaved dog we have ever had and we are so proud! Joe has continued to be a great resource for us, including helping us find an excellent dog agility trainer in our neighborhood. We are truly grateful for everything he has taught us and done for us. We can’t recommend him and STK9 enough.

It has been a little over one week since our dog Lou has been home after spending 3 weeks at STK9 being trained by DJ, Samantha, Matt and team. We are absolutely thrilled with the results. We realized that our energetic, 40 pounds of muscle with long lean legs resembling a fawn was beyond our training capabilities when she demonstrated that she has no problem opening doors and getting out and not coming when we called her name. Now, she comes when called and she walks like an angel completely respecting the heel command. Prior to STK9, walking Lou was liable to dislocate our shoulders as she pulled very hard. Another joy was taking Lou to an outdoor café, I gave her the down command and she stayed put the entire time! Again, prior to STK9 she would bark, jump up on us and beg from other tables. DJ was very patient with us when she brought Lou home and then put us through training as well. As per her instructions, we practice every day, so DJ we are adhering to the program! We adopted Lou from a shelter last November where she was dropped off by a good Samaritan who found her alone wandering the streets of New York, so it is really important for us to take Lou with us to as many dog friendly places as possible given her past, and STK9 made what we thought was impossible, come true. Our bundle of joy was always a big love, now she is a trained love!! Thank you STK9!

My little dog was born with a genetic predisposition to food aggression and I knew if I didn’t send her for training, she would have a difficult life. I chose STK9 because my friend sent her dog to STK9 and her dog is so calm and behaved. My little dog spent 5 weeks with DJ, fabulous trainer at STK9 and came home not only well behaved but also less stressed and more loving. I've very rarely do reviews, but I know that trusting your dog with someone or somewhere is the same as trusting them with a family member. I can say unequivocally that I not only trust STK9 with my German Shepherd, Kaiser, but have nothing but praise for them. Kaiser, is seven years-old. He recently had some big changes in his life, including us moving from NY to FL. So we decided to take him to STK9 for some re-training. He was there for several weeks. As you can imagine it was very difficult being away from him for so long, but when STK9 brought him back to the house he was so well adjusted, trained, and most importantly, happy. But it was not just the training Kaiser learned while he was away. STK9 were very helpful any time we had any questions. And any time we have to go away for a few days, even though it's about forty minutes from our house, we will only leave Kaiser in STK9's hands at the Pasedena Pet Motel. I would like to especially thank DJ and Samantha for taking such good care of my boy.

I can't speak highly enough about STK9. My dog very much loves going to daycare at Pasadena Pet Motel. She's been groomed there since she was a pup. And I've boarded her there as well. But when my dog began to develop some behavioral issues, I learned that STK9 is associated with Pasadena Pet Motel for training. I put my dog in the 30 day program. It was a big decision for me and one which I didn't take lightly because I wanted to make sure my dog would be ok without me for 30 days, and I also wanted to make sure the expense was justified. And by the way -- they have shorter programs than 30 days too, but my dog needed the whole thing. Anyway it was like night and day. My dog is still my dog. She's high energy, rambunctious, and generally just silly and playful. None of that changed. But she is absolutely amazing now with commands. I tried to teach her to heel and several other basics. I attended multiple obedience classes and read books. I tried doing everything I was told and nothing worked. 30 days with STK9 and my dog is almost a model of good behavior. I say "almost" because she's still a silly goofy dog, and she's most definitely not a robot. But that's every bit as obedient as I want her to be. My dog also LOVES the staff, particularly Matt, DJ and Samantha. I brought her to doggie day care twice since she's been back. I wondered whether she'd fight going in, or instantly get anxious. Not even close -- she raced into the building and affectionately greeted the staff. Finally, they've also been incredibly supportive of me, giving me every bit of training I need to make sure my dog continues to follow commands. They email frequently to ask how we're doing, and whether they can help. STK9 is the only organization I'd trust my dog with, and I think they are the absolute best. Can't recommend them highly enough.
