Strategic K9 Training LLC

I highly recommend Strategic K9. I have a 8 month, 75 pound Doberman Pinscher that we opted for the board and train program. Let me tell you...well worth the money spent. Amazing customer service from all the staff. We were always greeted as we entered. My pup used to get excited as we got closer to the facility for drop-off time. Thats how I knew they took amazing care of my pup. Not only did we see a noticeable improvement but we got reassurance in ourselves as owners and handlers.

Strategic K9 helped my dog and I so much, and I don't know where we would be without them. My boyfriend I are the owners of a sweet but challenging female Akita Inu named Cirilla, or Ciri for short. We also have an older shiba (zuko) who we are interested in getting trained with Strategic K9 since we were so happy with Ciri's results! It was difficult for me to take Ciri out on walks especially on my own as she was very scared of dogs+humans, and would often bark intensely/pull if dogs or people simply came into her view. She'd be so fixated on others that it was impossible for me to get her attention. Other dogs would run up/jump on Ciri with no warning when we walk, and owners get upset when she reacts negatively, so it was reassuring to hear from the team that Ciri isn't a bad dog, as many people have assumed the worst in her. I felt like I was failing her. After crying while attempting to train her, resulting in intense reactivity in public, we contacted Strategic K9 interested in their board+train program, and they got back to us quickly. The initial consultation went well and made me comfortable enough to entrust our baby with them for 3 weeks. It was very thorough, and Kevin really analyzes you + your dog's needs in your home environment. The entire Strategic K9 team/family are professional and friendly! We found them very personable and the vibe was comforting when I dropped Ciri off. Throughout the 3 week board+train, they keep you updated with photos & videos of your dogs progress. They saw how weary she was of humans+dogs, and did a lot of confidence building with her. Missed our girl a lot, but loved seeing how much fun she was having! During follow ups and her graduation, I could see how close Ciri got with Kevin! On the last day, Kevin taught me the tools and skills that I needed to help Ciri, and we got to put them into practice with a walk around their location amongst all the distractions. I had never felt so confident taking her out before. Forever thankful for the knowledge and trust that I now have. I love how they also teach you how to be a good owner in order to maintain your dog's learning as it definitely goes both ways! I knew that my anxiety was not good for her, so personally working on my own confidence to make my pups feel more comfortable. I got to learn how to properly continue her training by learning the proper times to reward/correct her, how to desensitize her, and much more. It has only been 2 days since we brought her back home, but the difference after the board+train is very noticeable. Well behaved while still her silly self. We are a work in progress together, but the doors that have opened are so exciting. Long review, but we are so grateful for Strategic K9, and highly recommend them to everyone. I cannot say enough good things about Kevin and the whole team at Strategic K9! They gave us the tools to help transform Stella, our sweet but incredibly headstrong mal pup, into a more confident and obedient girl. In the beginning, Stella was on the path to becoming a tiny menace. We could not do anything without chaos -- when we took her to the park, she was impossible to recall and would eat anything on the ground (seriously... sticks, trash, bird poo); if we went to a brewery, she would jump on the tables or try escaping her leash. I am no stranger to dog training but quickly realized that "regular" classes were not going to work for her. Despite our best positive reinforcement efforts, she just needed a little more. Enter Kevin! We did 5 weeks of puppy classes to build a solid foundation and 4 weeks of behavior modification to really target Stella's habits. He did an amazing job of breaking down what we were learning as pet owners, and helped us understand the training from Stella's point of view. We're now doing park classes to maintain her training (and ours!), and we absolutely love it. Park class gives us a chance to get feedback from the trainers, refresh our skills as owners, and also see the other dogs! Looking back at where we started to where we are now is night and day, and I am very proud of Stella. I used to envy people (and specifically, mal people lol) who could walk their dogs nicely, go on outings, or hang out off leash... although we have lots of room for improvement, we are finally those people! All this to say, we would not be living this harmoniously without Strategic K9. Training was worth every cent. I would do it all over again and always recommend Strategic K9 to others when they ask who our trainer is.
