Success Just Clicks Dog Training

Our 4.5 month old corgi, Poppy, just completed Puppy Kindergarten with Kelly, and we couldn’t have had a better experience. Such an understanding, genuine person to help walk us through the do’s and don’t’s of puppy training (especially with demand barking…the “do nothing” game is our current favorite). We will be taking Adventure Puppy with Coleman as we had such a great first course, and we truly hope to see Kelly again as Poppy progresses. Aside from the kindness of the trainers, we have really appreciated the center’s teaching/training philosophy. It is evident that all are thoroughly knowledgeable in their practice, and I have particularly enjoyed the application of human learning to canines. I’d highly recommend taking your puppy, rescue friend, or adult companion here if you’re looking for training.

I can’t recommend Tena and Success Just Clicks enough! When we adopted our rescue Trixie a year ago, she had severe separation anxiety and a host of other issues such as reactivity and she would attack our other dog. When we came to Tena, we were feeling helpless, overwhelmed, and simply exhausted. We couldn’t leave our house for more than 5 minutes without Trixie barking, howling, and being destructive for the entire time we were gone. My fiancé even had to sleep in a different room with her for a few months because she would howl if she wasn’t on the bed and if she was, she would bite our other dog. Tena approached the situation with kindness, compassion, and professionalism. Other people were pressuring us to put a bark collar on Trixie, but we didn’t want to traumatize her even more and Tena taught us how to build trust with Trixie in a positive, evidence based way and introduce gradual separations. She also recommended a veterinary specialist to prescribe behavioral meds for Trixie and recommended a new vet after we were having some issues with our previous vet and they have been great so far. We just hit our one year mark with Trixie and she is like a completely new dog! We have worked up to leaving her alone for 3 hours which may not seem like a lot, but it has given us our life back when we weren’t sure it would be possible. While she is still anxious and in need of further training, she has gained so much confidence and has grown into the happy and loving dog we knew she could be. I have no doubt that we would not have made it to this point without Tena’s support and expertise. In addition to private lessons, we did a few group classes and highly recommend those as well. Our anxious Trixie even gained enough confidence after several weeks to go through a tunnel! Thank you, Tena, for your help and patience with Trixie. We truly could not have found a better trainer. If you are dealing with a challenging dog, this is definitely the place to go!

We picked Success Just Clicks because of recommendations online. We adopted an Australian shepherd that was not well socialized when he was a puppy and he turned out being very scared of new experiences and things. It became apparent to us that he needed specialized training. I drive across 2 rivers for this place - and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Tena is absolutely amazing (and though we've only worked with Tena, I'm sure her team is just as amazing). I highly recommend SJC for any and all dog training situations.

We’re already on our 4th course here at Success Just Clicks and we absolutely love it. Elementary Basics gave us a solid foundation on how to teach Nyx to behave, and I really appreciate the method used here — it’s strongly based on positive reinforcement, which works extremely well for my dog. We also took Intro to Scentwork, and I can confidently say it’s such a fun and effective way for dogs to burn energy, especially during the winter. It was fascinating to learn how it all works. Kelly, Coleman, and Tena have always been incredibly attentive, kind, and patient. Even in a group setting, they pay close attention to each dog’s behavior, offering thoughtful corrections when needed and reinforcing positive moments right away. You can truly tell how knowledgeable they are about dogs. We can’t wait to take the next classes — agility, flyball, and Good Canine Citizen!
