Success Just Clicks Dog Training

Absolutely the best training program in the city. We saw such a significant improvement going through their Elementary Manners program with our dog Luca. We had done a couple puppy classes before, but the additional classes in this program (7 instead of the typical 4) really slowed the pace down and broke the commands into smaller steps for him to comprehend. Kelly was a great teacher and answered all our questions. I look forward to taking more advanced classes with them in the future.

My dog Goose loves going to class at SJC! She is two now and has been going since she was a puppy. These classes have helped my dog become more confident, strengthening our bond in the process. Tena, Kelly, and Coleman are extremely knowledgeable, displaying a thorough understanding on how to help each dog with subtle tips and tricks that make all the difference. Bringing Goose to Success Just Clicks has been the best decision I have made as a dog owner, and I am proud to support such a fantastic business.

Getting a puppy was MUCH harder than we could have ever imagined, but Success Just Clicks made it way easier!! We first found SJC after becoming completely overwhelmed by the immense reactivity displayed by our 6-month old Shetland Sheepdog. Even at such a young age, our puppy barked and lunged like a wild beast at EVERYTHING that moved-- cars, dogs, people, plastic bags on the street, etc. It was heartbreaking because we wanted to get a dog we could take on walks, to street fairs, etc. Instead, I dreaded spending time with my puppy and to be completely honest, I was on the verge of giving him up. After looking into ALL (seriously) of the dog trainers in Pittsburgh, we landed on SJC partially because positive reinforcement training was a MUST for us. In late 2021, we started with a one-on-one consultation with Tena, who gave us some excellent tools to help us manage the reactivity and more importantly to overcome those feelings of overwhelm. The first group class we took was Elementary Manners with the absolutely INCREDIBLE trainer Kelly! That class wasn't easy for our pup, but we had so many significant breakthroughs in that one class that I cried tears of relief. I finally had the feeling that things could get better and our dog not only could fit into our life but add significant enrichment to it! That was almost 2 years ago-- since then, we've taken at least a dozen classes at SJC and as a result, our reactive dog has been able to earn his AKC Canine Good Citizen certification, and he has excelled at scent work! Today our dog is still reactive, but he's WAY less reactive than he was at the beginning, especially in certain environments. He does really well in group classes, he doesn't care about cars at all anymore, and people/dogs walking down the other side of the street are not usually a problem. Our dog's reactivity is a work in progress! This is a deeply engrained part of who he is: a herding dog who resulted from generations of selective breeding for reactivity. We're "fighting" an uphill battle on that front, but that's OKAY!!! We truly love him, reactivity and all, and we've significantly shifted our perspective on that. The amazing folks who have worked with us at Success Just Clicks gave us the training, tools, and confidence we needed to feel like we could get our lives back, obviously we kept our dog, but we love him more than ever thanks to SJC. We couldn't imagine our lives without our dog, nor could we imagine our lives without Tena, Kelly, Nadine, Amanda, and all the incredible folks at SJC. <3 Thank you!!!
