Took the elementary school course for my very hyper dog and he learned all the basics in an environment with other dogs. He improved greatly with listening to me in a distracting environment. Next is middle school :) I highly recommend Such A Good Dog for all dog training needs.

My dog is around 4 years old. We have to keep him on a leash in the yard he has plenty of room and plenty of leash but we can't let him just go and roam outside like the other dogs bc he leaves yard can you help?
Hi Kelsey: Yes, we can talk to you about boundary training. Feel free to call 256-890-1234 to discuss some options. Thanks for getting in touch!

I have a 4mo old gsdmix, he barks alot, nips, and jumps at everything. Will y'all be able to help me that?
While you dog is still young is a great time to begin to address these problems! We have a rescue dog, also a GSD mix, that we got when he was about two years old. Having the help of a professional trainer made it possible for us to keep and retrain him. It was hard but worth it!

I have puppies that I would like to give to place for they can be train for someone . How do I go by giving them to a place of service.
Hi Martha: I’m sorry but I don’t know of any organizations that take owner turn in dogs for training. You could try the local rescues to see if they can help you re-home them.

We just got our pup we know nothing about him but we need help from kitty training to obedience. How much will this cost? And how long does it take?
First off, I loved this dog school..A+ A+ A+😃. U will not be disappointed. I enrolled my dog Lucy because I could already tell she was pretty smart & was a fast learner on the basic little things I was teaching her @ home. There weren't any behavior issues 4 us 2 have 2 overcome, so that was a good foundation 2 build on. When Lucy & I signed up, we went through the Kindergarten Class (sort of like pre-school 4 dogs). Then after we graduated we signed up 4 the Elementary Class...sort of like being a 1st or 2nd grader. The K class was about 5 weeks @ reasonably priced, the E class ran 4 weeks & involved field trips 4 teaching socialization. Class size was 3 -4 dogs w/owners and 1 teacher 4 the group. We had Miss Callie & she was knowledgeable, attentive, completely open to questions & explanations. We had homework printouts for practice & to be ready 4 class (one day per week). If it pup is only 8-10 weeks old, I'm pretty sure the have some kind of new beginners lessons....

Do you do service dog/emotional support dog training?
Hi Becca: We do all the obedience training necessary for SDs and can administer the public access test, but not the task specific behaviors. Emotional Support dogs do not require any specific training--they're basically pet dogs that allow you to live/lodge in places that do not allow dogs if you have a "need" letter from your provider. https://www.ada.gov/regs2010/service_animal_qa.html

My dog is a little over a year. He's very eager to learn but is high energy. He gets a little mouthy. He also jumps on people alot. If I came in could you help me with that?
By taking one of mine in, he really learned a lot. I felt it was totally worth it and have recommended to others. It was fun to watch the other dogs learn too.
Community answer · Eric St. John · 2019-09-21
She can work miracles with dogs. No doubt she can stop the jumping.
Community answer · Michael Morgan · 2022-09-21
There were 3 other dogs in the class that my service dog in training Buck was in. They all were very high energy and jumped up on people. By the end of the elementary class they were all like completely different dogs and would only get better if they continue on with the intermediate class.

We'd be happy to help. If he's fine with strange dogs and strange people I think a group class--Elementary for his age-- would be a good start.

I just need some help so my dog Dale can start his service training.
Community answer · Tenshi Bunny · 2019-09-21
My dog is very hyper active and uncontrollable it seems, i have tried to train him but maybe i just don’t know how, if i bring him here do you think it would help any? or is there other alternatives i should take?
Potty training and barking has been the main issues with him. I’ll try it out! Thank you!
Community answer · Alexis Smith · 2019-09-21
Hi Alexis: There are lots of techniques for high energy dogs to gain focus, and getting those extra tools may be what you need. If your dog has no trouble (aggression, fear) of strange people and strange dogs then a group class would be a good place to start.
Community answer · Such A Good Dog · 2019-09-21
I have no doubt they can help. Give her a try, you will be surprised how quickly she can help.
Community answer · Michael Morgan · 2019-09-21
When it says "Meets for 5 weeks" does that mean the $99 is for 1 class each week for 5 weeks or is it $99 per session?
It is $99 for the whole five week session.
Community answer · Samantha · 2019-09-21
Hi Joseph: It's $99 for the 5 week session.
Community answer · Such A Good Dog · 2019-09-21
The total cost of the five classes is $99.

Absolutely

I have a 1 1/2 year old golden doodle that is wonderful around my kids. But when other kids or adults come over...he's aggressive. Recommendations?? Will this training help??
I would ask about private sessions. The trainers will know how to help with this behavior.

The trainers at Such a Good Dog are really good and feel most dogs can be trained. They will definitely answer your questions in person or with a phone call. But my Anatolian shepherd did great with the first class and we will probably be going back for the subsequent training.
Community answer · Tamara Gardner · 2019-09-21
How old does the dog need to be to start training?
I'm so sorry for the late reply! Our Kindergarten classes start at 8 weeks old after at least 1 round of vaccinations.

I would recommend Such A Good Dog a million times over. We completed the Elementary level with our dog shortly after adopting her and we were so happy with the progress she made over the course of the class. Nicole had a well-organized progression for the skills presented, is patient when working with each dog (and owner), and gives excellent feedback and support. We loved the handouts she gave us at the end of each session because they very clearly broke down each step for practice at home during the week.

She was so knowledgeable about dog behavior and treated each of the class members with so much respect. You can tell she truly loves dogs and enjoys helping owners to learn how to communicate more effectively with their pups! Sydney is definitely more confident and focuses on our commands so much better now. I highly recommend Such a Good Dog for training!

Nicole with such a good dog is simply AMAZING! We needed a place to send our dog due to having a baby and she went above and beyond to accommodate to us! Without hesitation, she rescheduled for us 3 times to make sure it worked with our ever changing due date! Our dog board and trained a week with her at their home to work on his nipping, pawing and jumping before baby as well as refreshing his already learned skills from Such a Good Dogs-Kindergarten and Junior High program! Nicole made us feel completely at ease leaving our fur baby in their care. She sent daily updates, pictures, videos. He received so much training outside of the home as well by getting to go to places around town. To end this amazing experience, Nicole ends the boarding session with an in home training session to show you all the things your dog has learned. We were SHOCKED at how well behaved our energy filled Boston Terrier was! Best decision we could have made! 15/10 highly recommend you give Such a Good Dog “Board and Train” a try!

I cannot fully express what a wonderful experience the Board and Train program is with Such a Good Dog. We chose a week with Nicole for our 5 month old dog, Daisy. Nicole asked what we needed her to focus on which was crate training, loose leash walking, down, off, and place. Nicole worked on all of those and others: they went on field trips for exposure to distractions and other people; they went on many, many walks; and Nicole spent one-on-one time with Daisy to help with Daisy’s separation anxiety. She exposed Daisy to other dogs and even took her for a swim lesson at Dog Splash!! Nicole sent multiple videos each day and kept us informed via text. The videos were extremely helpful! I now know exactly what to do for the commands Nicole taught. She spent an hour with us in our home prior to Daisy’s week with her and an hour and a half when the week was over. Nicole showed us how and what to do to reinforce the training. And she gave us tips and tricks for getting Daisy to do what we ask. Daisy has come home refreshed, less anxious and with much more confidence. I have come through the week with much more confidence and knowledge as well. Nicole answered all of our questions, and I never once felt like she did not have Daisy’s best interests in mind. We send our children to school and camp to learn from people who have the knowledge and understanding of what it takes to teach children. This is no different. I sent Daisy to an expert on positive reinforcement for dogs for a week, and I got back a happier, more confident puppy who is less anxious and has less separation anxiety. If you are considering a Board and Train for your dog, do not hesitate to choose Such a Good Dog! Your dog will be more confident and have a blast while learning lots and lots of new things from a dog training expert! Take Daisy’s word for it!
