Libby is an incredible person to work with and I highly recommend their services if you are seeking positive reinforcement dog training. At times I would even describe them as a miracle worker. I have been working with Libby for a year and a half and they have taught me so much. I cannot overstate how much more confident and at ease I feel with my reactive dog Beatrix because of the strategies I learned from Libby. I appreciate their approach to training and the innumerable practical tips and tricks they showed me over our different sessions with Beatrix. It can be extremely anxiety inducing to have a dog-reactive dog in public, but with what I have learned at Superhero Dog Academy, I was able to take Beatrix backpacking in the Uintas this summer, which is something I never could have imagined before going through this program. LIBBY IS OUR SUPERHERO! My partner and I found Libby after being recommended by multiple dog owners in the Dog Friendly SLC Facebook group. As a bit of background, we are first time dog owners to two very cute, but also very reactive border collie/cattle dog rescues. After months of struggling with reactivity, leash aggression, and fear of strangers we realized the “balanced” training techniques our prior trainer had taught us were making our problems worse. Libby has been an absolute lifesaver- her incredibly understanding of dog behavior and up to date knowledge on R+/force free techniques has led to tremendous improvements not only in our dogs behaviors but also in the understanding of their emotions which has helped us develop an even stronger bond with them. With the help of Libby, we’ve been able to bring our dogs hiking/mountain biking on trails, have people over our apartment, and even send them to daycare at the Academy! Prior to meeting Libby, we never thought any of these accomplishments would be possible, and for that I’m forever thankful for!
