Supreme K9 Dog Training & Advocacy

This is a very overdue review and I could write SO much more but if you are thinking about bringing your dog here for training, it is never too late, or early!! GO FOR IT! I cannot thank Otto and his team enough for all the work they've done and continue to do for my dog, Ellie (Ellie bean). I started Ellie's training journey since she was 3 months old with Nancy, and to this day, "school" is one of her favorite places. To be transparent, I learned about Supreme through a tech at Ellie's vet and after doing research for trainers/programs within Hudson county, I felt most comfortable with SK9's approach. Add to this, I've never owned a puppy before and while having experience with adult rescue dogs, this was an entirely new adventure and I had no clue what I signed myself up for. Day 3, I already started panicking, wondering how I was going to get this dog to "behave"!! So to say, since working with the team, I have never thought about changing to any other trainer as they have become so integral of Ellie’s foundation and growth. In terms of Ellie's training, I started with private lessons, moved onto the puppy foundational program, and eventually a refresher after she turned a year old. I should note, there are very few people I would trust with my dog and the team has always been there for her, strong emphasis on the advocacy! I would highly recommend when looking for a trainer, think about what you really want to focus on with your dog. For me, I wanted to build a very strong bond with Ellie so that training wouldn't become a quick fix or feel like a chore, but instead, part of our daily routine. Her focal areas continue to be impulse control, recall and leash skills-- we work on this daily! As we have been with SK9 for over a year, it has definitely been rewarding to work together to adjust Ellie's training as she was developing from puppy to an adult dog. Everytime I needed assistance from the team, I felt heard and I always got a solid breakdown of how to address my concerns-they keep me updated all the time (love their use of IG stories) and overall communication. The fear periods are real and without integrating the relationship building with Ellie, the training would not have been as fluid and fun-- I continue to use her favorite motivator: tennis ball and fetch! I would 1000% recommend SK9, because all dogs can use training and the biggest compliment I've received is "how is your dog so well-trained?" :) Ellie loves the team, and I know they love her too, truly treating her like one of their own. Also, a huge thank you to Artemis for always helping with the scheduling and providing flexibility!

If I could give 6 Stars I would. Did the 4 week day school and just so happy with the results. Our 2.5yr old pit mix needed a lot of help with food aggression and leash control. The team at Supreme did an amazing job. More than the result, I was very pleased with the process. Evan, Nancy, Otto and team are just so passionate about what they do and are super patient with the owners (which probs takes more skill that training the animal:) I'm so grateful to this team and highly recommend. If you are thinking about it, just do it - you wont regret it.

The team at Supreme K9 has worked wonders on my 3 year old corgi. She is a reactive dog that has a lot anxiety and is very pushy. Through the four week program, I’ve already seen wonders of a difference between her reactivity, and obedience. The team also helped me feel comfortable with tools I was hesitant to use. If I had known what I do now, I would’ve brought my corgi much sooner. Highly recommend!

I got a 7 month old European Doberman named Cannoli while pregnant. She wasn’t used to being in the city or walking on a leash, so she pulled a lot. And because she was only used to being around her siblings, she became dog reactive. Otto was great with her and she responded so well to working with him. She was a new dog after every session and now she can walk by a group of dogs and not react. He also helped me prepare her for the baby and it helped make the transition a lot smoother. I’m so grateful for Otto’s help and can’t recommend him enough!

Supreme K9 has completely changed our lives. My pup Jax, was a goofy, happy-go-lucky guy that loved everyone, humans and dogs. Unfortunately, over the past few years, he was attacked by another dog quite a few times and he (and I) developed PTSD which led to him becoming very dog reactive (and me becoming very scared). This made our day to day lives incredibly hard and something as simple as a walk very stressful. After meeting Otto and his team and explaining our situation they recommended the 6 week Day School program and the progress he made over those 6 weeks was nothing short of amazing. This team wants nothing but the best for the dogs they work with and their passion and love for dogs is simply inspiring. They choose to see the best in every dog they work with and do whatever they can to find the root of the issue and help them overcome and reach that potential they know is there. On top of this, they also make sure the humans are trained as well. They never hesitate to answer any question, review any tactics, and give you, as an owner, the support and tools you need to succeed. In just 6 weeks, Jax went from not being able to be in the vicinity of any dog to playing with other dogs and I went from panicking and running away each time we saw a dog on a walk, to learning to control my fear, trust myself and Jax, and walking by them. He also has been taken off his anxiety medication and is much calmer than when he was on it. I cannot thank Supreme K9 enough for the help and hope they have given us. We still have a long way to go but are confident that we can continue to progress with everything they have given us. Jax will continue to work with the team as part of their Train and Play program now that he is a Day School graduate! I cannot recommend Supreme K9 enough, it was worth every penny and every hour of hard work.
