Before deciding on using Take the Lead Dog Training, we did our homework and contacted few local trainers and spoke with them about our puppy and our specific concerns and needs. They were all very nice and eager to take Pepper on. But none of them made us feel the genuine compassion and the pure desire to just help except Kimberly! Before even hiring her, Kimberly gave a lot of advice and pointers with shepherd training. Her knowledge and expertise are parallel to none. We are so glad to have Kimberly as our dog magician and forever friend. She always displayed professionalism along with compassion and LOVE for Pepper. I mean who would cry when a dog reached a milestone!! Kimberly would! We are fortunate to have met an awesome human who made our lives so much easier. Kimberly was the best choice for training our 1 year old Shepard! She was extremely personable & easy to work with. Peppers quality of life went up exponentially ever since we brought Take the Lead into our home! I felt completely confident leaving Pepper in Kimberly’s hands, knowing she was going to be taken care of & her needs were always going to be met. From an owners perspective, she was kind & knowledgeable, giving us the right information at the right time so we can learn alongside our dog! Kimberly was truly wonderful from start to end & we can’t thank her enough for everything she taught us!

Kimberly began working with our GSD puppy, Loki, who lacked self-confidence. We had seven sessions total - the first interaction with Loki was about 90 minutes of him barking because of his fear. The last training session began with Loki greeting her in a public park, excited to see her. The sessions in between consisted of long-line training and recall, group training, dealing with exposure and teaching when and when not to reward behavior. Our family continues to re-enforce the training lessons Kimberly left us. She definitely helped us with our reactive, low-self esteemed dog. Definitely recommend.

From our first conversation over the phone inquiring about her services, Kimberly was always very polite & professional. Instantaneously, I could see/feel her genuine love & passion for dogs during our first training session. I've had many odd questions, but her out of the box thinking has always come to the rescue. She's also really great at customizing the training sessions based on the needs of each dog/owner. Oh, and she's mobile & can work with you in the comfort of your own home/environment.
