Tame Dog Training & Boarding

My son and I, tragically, lost our dog over the summer. I have never been without a dog. So we rescued, Memphis, a few weeks after. We were looking for an older, calmer dog. Memphis was neither. She is a Shepard/Lab mix and is FULL of energy. I have trained all of my dogs, but I just didn't have the time for training her. I called Matt, and was very nervous to leave our new girl with a stranger. He was AWESOME. He made me feel comfortable and sent photos and updates on her regularly. Although, the energy is still there, she now very obedient. She is so smart and has a way to go, but she gets better everyday! Matt continues to check in and has come to our house to ensure she is still on the right track! I will never train a dog again. They will always go see Matt! Highly recommended !!

I took my baby for training also I looked up his reviews they seem great. But it was total failure he kept my dog for two weeks he said that at this point he should be at a basic training he was supposed to be sitting and staying and potty trained when I picked him up he barely followed instructions he definitely was not potty trained he promised that after two weeks he would follow up but I have not heard from him since then it’s been 2 months since then for the amount of money he charges I expected basic obedience very disappointed ☹️

Matt and his team are incredible. We adopted a dog from a rescue and she came with some separation anxiety and did not know any commands. After 10 days with Matt, she is so much less anxious when we leave, she does great with her new commands and is doing so well on the leash! Matt is extremely knowledgeable about dogs and how they think and act, and he has been wonderful with following up as well to see how she is progressing at home. Through the whole process, from discussing what we wanted over the phone to picking up our pup and having an in depth session with him, everything was wonderful! It’s not often you get to work with someone so passionate and committed, but that is the experience you will get with Matt. We wish we could give him more than 5 stars!!

We have a brand new dog! Before Matt's program, our dog (Clemmie) would lash out at strangers due to insecurity. She was scared of most noises and new places. Matt, the owner of Tame Dog Training transformed Clemmie in 17 days. I was skeptical that Clemmie could be ridded of her old habits and insecurities, yet she has a brand new, bold personality. Clemmie now stays with me during the day at my office and greets new clients, as well as walks near busy Dallas streets with ease. The most important part of Matt's training is what a good teacher he is to humans. He helped us understand how dogs communicate by inviting us to his business for hands on training with Clemmie. Matt also offered reading materials as well as follow up classes for us and the dog after the program ended. He really goes above and beyond and I would recommend his class to any dog owner. Wow is the first word that comes to mind after taking our dog to TAME Dog Training. I adopted a rescue when I was in college and over the last couple of years her behavior got worse and worse. She’s a blue healer so she was prone to nipping heals and she grew to be very protective of me... a little too protective. I wasn’t able to have new friends over without the fear of her behaving poorly nor was I able to take her to the dog park because any dog coming near me would set her off. I started to get nervous with the thought how she might respond whenever we decide to have kids (or even having kids at my house in the meantime). So I decided to make the investment to get her trained. Matt was absolutely amazing... he talked to me on the phone and answered all the questions I had via email even before scheduling our preliminary visit. Then he had us come by to go over what he would be going over with our dog, explained the science behind the training and asked what concerns we had about specific bahaviors we wanted to address. Leaving her for so long was hard but I knew that she would be in good hands with Matt. Not only was it clear that he knew his stuff but I could tell that he was a kind and trustworthy person and would treat my dog well during her stay with him. So many of the behaviors that I addressed with him that first meeting were mitigated after her stay, and even some that I didn’t realize needed to be addressed. He took the time and care to make sure that we knew what we were doing to follow up with her training at home. And he’s always quick to respond whenever I have a question or concern even now. I don’t think I could have found anyone better to train my dog... I highly recommend that if you’re thinking about behavior training for your dog that you go to TAME. You won’t be disappointed...
