I enrolled in both the basic and advanced private training sessions at Tarheel Canine with my 4-year-old German Shepherd, Torvi, to enhance her skills as a psychiatric service dog. Jerry Bradshaw was exceptional—knowledgeable, patient, and truly dedicated to helping us succeed. Torvi made incredible progress in obedience, focus, and composure, especially in high-stress situations. Jerry tailored the training to our specific needs and gave me the tools to be a more confident handler. I highly recommend Tarheel Canine and Jerry to anyone looking for professional, effective dog training—especially for service dog preparation.

I attended and paid out of pocket for Tarheels 6 month master trainer course and it was one of the best experiences I could have give myself. I found that already understanding dogs and concepts to training prior to attending was beneficial to me because I got to create a unique niche for my business that enriches my work. It’s important to know that this school will only spoon feed you some information but it’s up to the students drive to learn and ask questions. Jerry and the staff are a wealth of knowledge at your fingertips and they WILL give you all the information they have if you ask for it. I’ve been to other big name schools and worked with big names in dog training world and there’s no other place where you can get your hands on so many different dogs. I attended with 2 other 6 month student’s and all have become successful business owners. The networking and connections I made was also a hidden surprise as now I have awesome friends i can bounce information off of. Worth every penny and I look forward to my 2 week refreshers every year.
