Teacher Turned Trainer

My husband and I hired teacher turned trainer (Taryn) because someone at the dog park recommended her, and let me tell you… I am thrilled with the results!! She really helped us figure out exactly what he/we needed to do with all of his puppy energy! We have stayed as consistent as one possibly can and we have seriously seen some extreme results. I can actually control him in public and learned how to keep him calm with his focus on me! All with positive reinforcement!! We really recommend Teacher Turned Turned Trainer. She is amazing!!!!!!

We hired Taryn and her team for our wedding on 10/26/24. Let me start off by saying that ya girl (me) is an anxious MESS when it comes to her dogs. They're my children! We met Taryn at a bridal show about a year and a half before our actual reception, and knew immediately we wanted her as part of our day. No family would have to leave the party, we wouldn't have to worry about making sure someone was staying sober to take the pups home, AND she's a trainer! How much better can it get? Oh friends. It did get better. We felt comfy with Taryn immediately when she came to do the meet & greet with our 3 dogs. She is so personable and friendly, and never felt fake nice. As the day got closer (we hired her like 8 months in advance or something crazy...), both my husband and I were AWFUL at responding to her emails, but she was SO LOVELY and communicative, and helped nudge us politely to get our crap together LOL! We sent Taryn over the instructions for our babes, and not only did she ACTUALLY read them, she asked several questions about them to make sure that she fully understood everything, and that we gave her all the info she needed. On the actual day, Taryn and her team member were bright eyed, bushy tailed, friendly, and PERFECTLY on time! Our photographer had never dealt with folks who were specifically hired to handle pets at a wedding before, and she would NOT leave at the end of the night without their contact info! Not only did they show up on time, they also brought treats and squeaky toys to assist with photos, and she had worked with our dogs a bit before they came to the venue! WHICH WE HADNT EVEN TALKED ABOUT BUT ALMOST MADE ME CRY. AND THEN. AND THEN. AND THEN!!!!! This is the part that really blew me away and made my heart happy. When they were taking our kids back to our house at the end of the evening, Taryn stopped me to double check and ask a medication related question. Turns out, in all the commotion of that day, between my husband and I, and then the instructions, we had accidentally asked Taryn to give my oldest dog too much of one of his medications. Not only did she pay enough attention to the instructions to remember that, but she 1) knew about the medication enough to ask about the dose and 2) cared enough to make sure he was getting the right thing instead of just 'following the directions given.' It's an anxiety med, so it wouldn't have been a HUGE deal, but it meant so so much to us that she CARED and PAID ATTENTION enough to ask. Anyway. All that to say, if you're having your pets at your wedding, HIRE TARYN AND HER TEAM. She is adorable and lovely and KNOWS HER STUFF, your other vendors will thank you, and she CARES about what she does. Sorry it took me over a week to get this review typed up, but I wanted to make sure everyone knew how great of an experience we had!!!!!!!!!

Taryn was AMAZING! We started training with our pup when he was about 7 months. We did about six weeks worth of training. We just loved watching him grow and understand each lesson every week. Taryn was very flexible and understanding when we had to switch the times on a couple of our appointments. There was always great communication and understanding from her. We loved her teaching methods and so did our pup. 100% would recommend her for anyone who is wanting to start obedience training with their pups.
