About Texas K-9 Academy
Texas K-9 Academy provides board-and-train programs for dogs and their families across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. Established in 2016 and based in Little Elm, we help owners build everyday skills with their dogs, including leash manners, polite greetings, coming when called, and obedience around distractions. Our programs include foundational obedience and advanced on- and off-leash training, with owner instruction and follow-up support to help carry training into life at home. We’re so thankful for Liz! We sent our 6 month old Vizsla, Rosie, to her for training back in October and she came back a completely different dog. We committed to following through with everything Liz told us to do, and we are glad we did. The “place” command was a game changer for us, and we learned that Rosie needed to be mentally exercised even more than physically. We have referred several friends to her as well, so we are obviously happy customers!
Arya’s glad we’re back! I have to say Texas K9 University in Springtown was wonderful keeping Arya while we were gone! They have very clean kennels, lots of space for the dogs to run, and they sent me update videos of her playing, chasing her toys. I did a lot of research, and they were highly recommended, and they certainly lived up to their ratings!
We adopted a Blue in January from DAS, he was an owner surrender. It did not take long to realize why he was surrendered. We adopted a Blue in January from DAS, he was an owner surrender. It did not take long to realize why he was surrendered. He was completely out of control and sometimes a bit aggressive towards us & our other three senior dogs. We tried everything we knew to do but nothing worked. He could go from 0-50 in seconds and you could not bring him back down from 50. We signed Blue up for the two week board and train. Liz ended up keeping him a little over three weeks because he was not quite ready to come home. She brought Blue home to our house to help us reintroduce him to our other dogs. She took quite a bit of time with us and was very patient teaching the humans what we needed to do. It has now been a couple months since his training and he is a changed dog. He still gets a little crazy at times but he is now able to bring himself back down to a calm state in a very short period of time. He plays nicely with our other dogs and has good manners. I can say that Liz saved this dogs life, if we were not able to get him help we were not going to be able to keep him for the safety of us and our other dogs. Today he is a total joy to be around & he keeps us laughing with is silly nature. Thank you Liz for coming to the rescue, you really did save a life!!
Liz can do it all, training, boarding and loving the dogs she is working with! Our dog is always super excited when we pull up to her place and we have total comfort knowing he is in the best hands.
